Angle's ankle lock prevails though after he uses his mat wrestling to out-work Shamrock. Shamrock utilizes his unorthodox kicks in the match, which have Angle reeling, but Angle begins to nicely execute painful holds and moves on Shamrocks ankle. A semi-long brawl happens outside in which angle starts to kill Shamrock's ankle. Angle then gets the tap from the ankle lock.) Owen Hart vs. Steve Austin Winner: Steve Austin (Owen Hart strays away from his aerial assault that he normally would perform, to confuse Austin in the early going. Austin regains control with a lot of mat wrestling counters that has Owen baffled. Owen locks his Sharpshooter, but too close to the ropes allowing Austin's escape. Owen Hart/Steve Austin: I'm surprised by all the Owen votes in this match-up. Compared to Austin's KOTR victory and following matches, he makes Owen look like a joke of a KOTR. I like Owen, but his victory didn't change a thing except give him a new gimmick to shill in the midcard while Austin's propelled him to stardom.
