Guest Vyce Report post Posted April 2, 2002 Okay, here's the deal - I want to pick up a couple of lucha tapes, but I'm not even sure where to start, since about all I know of lucha is what I've seen on Nitro a few years back. So I'm looking for some tape recommendations. Basically, what would be a good couple videos to get to start off with? There are tons of posts about which puro tapes to begin with, but very few or none for lucha. I'm looking for a couple tapes, running around 2 or 3 hours each. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure some of you guys, like razazteca or Chris could help me.
Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted April 3, 2002 I would suggest checking out the following: Bob Barnett's AAA 1993-1995 collection to go through the prime of AAA and see the workers you already know such as Rey Jr, Psicosis, Juvi, Konan, Eddy Guerrero, etc all in an environment better than WCW's. Other Barnett tapes I would suggest checking out specifically would be: Konan's AAA Tijuana 3/16-29/96 - features one of the greatest Juniors matches I have ever seen between Rey Jr and Juvi, plus a fun Psicosis v Ultraman Mask v Mask and a short but nice 6 man. 2/21/97 Tijuana - Rey Jr v Santo classic plus a great 8 man Lucha match and an added 11/96 Dragon v Rey Jr from WAR From Wrestleholicsvideos.com, I suggest the Rey v Juvi comp. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 3, 2002 well I am not a expert on the subject of tape trading or Lucha Libre. So here are my suggestions: Dr Wanger vs Shocker March 26 for the Semi Completo title (was this ever taped) Electro Shock vs Hector Garza for the AAA title When World Collide PPV RF video Galavision tv block Nov 11 & Nov 20 of 2001 features Rey Misterio Jr, Santo, Psicosis (Nicho), Juvi my favorite luchadores: Dr Wanger Tarzan Boy Shocker Electro Shock Hector Garza Tim knows his stuff
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted April 3, 2002 You can get that Galavision from plenty of people - no need to fund scum like RF. I think I got the CMLL from wrestleholics, but the action does indeed rule.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 3, 2002 well I was just looking at the RF Video catalog as a point of reference. April 2 2002 is a must have CMLL show: Dr Wanger & Blue Panther & Fuerza Guerrera vs Tarzan & Ulitmo Guerrero & Rey Buccanero for the Trios title elimation tag match featuring Santo, Nicho, Mascara Magica, Santanico, Halloween, Damon 666, Negro Casas. This was a long mano a mano type of match great spots by everybody, alittle disappointed by Nicho vs Santo but it was a great match no less. Surprise ending!!!! Mark out moment Damon 666 did a move from a video game....Tiger King's suplex/neck breaker from Tekken!!!! I highly suggest get CMLL tv blocks featuring these Luchadores. And some AAA tv featuring the Mini Los Vipers vs Mascarita Sagrada
Guest Vyce Report post Posted April 4, 2002 Okay, I've been looking around at the various websites, and a couple shows have caught my attention. I was wondering if any of you have reviews or thoughts on the following two shows: AAA Triplemania (from 7/8/00) CMLL "Sin Piedad" 12/14/01 I'm hoping to get some Galavision blocks, but those two shows appealed to me, and I want to know if they're any good.
