LaParkaMarka Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 So far Plummer has gotten grief for his undistinguished wardrobe ("He's a Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, Old Navy kind of guy," says Sharpe) and his proclivity for cackling. Nalen describes him as yappy, and backup quarterback Steve Beuerlein says, "Sometimes you want to slap him around and tell him to shut up." I find the above paragraph hilarious. I keep on picturing Steve Beuerlein walking up to a cackling Jake Plummer and bitchslapping him. Anyways, to make this post vaguely worthwhile: who thinks Plummer will succeed in Denver? The man definately has the supporting cast to succeed. Even if he does do reasonably well, can the Broncos make the playoffs?
Guest Deebo Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 No wayyy... Plummer just doesn't have it. Shannahan's "genius" is overrated anyway. Plummer hasnt looked any better so far with Denver than he did with Arizona. If Denver makes the playoffs, it will be on the legs of Clinton Portis
CanadianChris Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 If he does even reasonably well, Denver will win the conference going away. That said, I have my doubts.
Kahran Ramsus Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 No chance. Denver isn't very good, and they are getting worse. Portis is the only star in their offense, and they have a weak line on top of it. Lelie is the only other skill player that has any sort of upside at all, and he has to take McCaffrey's job to do anything. Denver is the worst team in the AFC West, but still should be good enough to finish ahead of the true dogs (Jaguars, Texans, Bengals) in the AFC. Playoffs are unlikely.
