Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Ok, I'm sure this has been mentioned SOMEWHERE on the boards yet, but I thought I'd start a topic about it for all of us. Anyhow... ... Chris Jericho wins the "big one" back in December, thus becoming the FIRST EVER Undisputed World Champion "ever". Ok, so that's just one hell of a statement, and I'm so glad I am able to actually say that. Jericho struts around for months with the two major titles, as the champion, and that's great. But still, one must wonder... ...just why in the HELL did they wait untill HHH won the Undisputed World Title, to finally debut the brand new Undisputed Championship Title? I'm certain that they could have created it in time for Jericho to have carried it around, I mean damn, he was the "first ever", NOT HHH! Ugh, this almost makes me sick. Perhaps it was just coiencidence, maybe? Ummm, it could be I suppose, but I doubt it! I wonder what the reason was to give HHH the title first. Could it be they didn't think Jericho was worthy to hold it? How about they simply couldn't make it in time (yeah f'n right)? Or, yeah, I got it... ...perhaps since HHH has gained so much f'n musscle mass, he is just too f'n heavy for his own good to carry TWO damn titles, so he was forced to make the WWF make the "single" tile for him. Yeah... ...I can imagine him giving them that excuse, lol. But seriously, do any of you know why they did this for CERTAIN? Because it sure as hell seems fishy to me! HHH, strikes again! Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted April 3, 2002 They made the belt smaller because Steph was actually trying to book herself to win it. Until she got bogged down writing 2 seperate shows............even though she's been writing 2 seperate shows all along.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted April 3, 2002 I had heard rumors of that belt being debuted for the day after WrestleMania, so apparently that was the plan all along. And I actually prefer it this way. As far as anybody will know in the future, Jericho was a double champion and HHH wasn't.
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 3, 2002 I might be wrong, but traditionally they award a new belt to the champ after WM. Sure, it's been 2 weeks since, but... [...realized he's on a Smarkboard...] Um, I mean, HHH IS HOLDING JERICHO DOWN!!! BOO HHH!!! EDDY~ FOR IC CHAMP!!! MISAWA FOR PREZ IN 2003!!! (I don't even know who Misawa is...) Guest tazmission86 Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Very simple. Because up until now, the WWF was planning on separating the two belts for the two divisions. WWF Raw would get the WWF Title, and WWF SmackDown! would get the World Title, or vice versa. But, because they book on the fly, they decided not to do that, and have the Champion just journey from one show to the other. I'm still not sure which idea I like better. Not everything is the result of Triple H being smarter than everyone else, ya know.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Probably becase HHH wanted to have his time with both belts too.

"I wonder what the reason was to give HHH the title first. Could it be they didn't think Jericho was worthy to hold it?" What if that was it? Are they not as entitled to their opinion as you are to yours? If you want to get technical about it, Triple H was not even the first to hold it. Undertaker got his grubby little mitts on it first. Guest papacita Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Undisputed title my ass! SPLIT THE DAMN THING!!! SPLIT IT!!!! SPLIT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS- I think they should split the titles. Goodnight.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted April 3, 2002 The WWF also brought in a new WWF Title the night after WrestleMania XIV. Maybe they purposely waited until after Mania again.

Or maybe it was all a part of Vince McMahon's grand scheme to keep Shawn Michaels down. PS-Split the titles.
Guest Matt Report post Posted April 3, 2002 I dunno maybe its me but I kinda liked it when there were two titles. It should have stayed that way. Like The Triple Crown. A new belt seems a little corny for me in that it just will eventually phase out WCW's influence in the undisputed title. I mean, i think the belt looks like the wwf belt overbearingly more than it does any incarnation of the wcw title
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted April 3, 2002 I think the wwf should've gone the extra mile and added the ECW title belt to the mix and they could've had their own triple crown. However, I also believe in history and cherishing things and Giant Baba would roll in his grave if the title he created was being defended the way the wwf has their title matches. If you've ever seen a triple crown match, you know it is one of the hardest matches because the comptetitors ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR PROFESSION!!!! I don't want to start a puro vs US war again, but the wwf's title matches have sucked ass since the Angle/Austin feud. (last great series of matches for the title IMO)

Guest Report post Posted April 3, 2002 "...it will phase out WCW's influence in the undisputed title..." Well DUH. That's probably the whole point. For Vince's opinion of WCW, its legacy, its performers, and its history, refer to the Great Debacle that was known as the Invasion angle. Or go back even farther, to the last ever Nitro. How did it end, with Flair vs Sting in the ring? NO. With Vince and Shane McMahon, on the mic, shouting at each other from each show. I'm not at all surprised. No, wait, I am surprised. Surprised I didn't expect a new belt.
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Why is it that everytime that anything remotely involving Triple H happens it's some kind of conspiracy? Just let it happen, why does it matter who got a new belt?
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Why is it that everytime that anything remotely involving Triple H happens it's some kind of conspiracy? Just let it happen, why does it matter who got a new belt? *shrugs* Jericho has conspriacy all around him... ask Vanilla Midget. I just found it very wrong that the FIRST "Undisputed Champion" never got to wear the FIRST Undisputed Title... instead he both the WWF Title and WCW/World Title. Oh well I would want those belts more than one belt. HHH gets the belt--maybe because it was after Mania, or whatever. Fuck HHH.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 3, 2002 Why is it that everytime that anything remotely involving Triple H happens it's some kind of conspiracy? The reason is simple, because it IS a conspiracy (and I do not like it!)... every time... the truth is out there... But when all is said and done, the new belt is ugly, and like him or not (for me its the latter), he arguably deserves it for having to partake in the most embarrassing squash I've ever seen. Granted, I haven't seen much, but I just saw the classic Hunter Hearst-Helmsley vs. The Ultimate Warrior match where HHH gave Ultimate Warrior a Pedigree and Ultimate Warrior just stood up, only to gain the pinfall after a bunch of clotheslines and a gorilla press? God, how embarrassing... no wonder HHH has such insecurities that he has to partake in all these conspiracies...

Yeah... Has he really gained that much muscle mass? It's been repeated over and over like a lot things of other things here, but I really can't see any kind of size difference since the quad. If you've ever seen a triple crown match, you know it is one of the hardest matches because the comptetitors ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR PROFESSION!!!! Pretty sure most of the guys in the WWF care about their professions, too. I might be wrong, but traditionally they award a new belt to the champ after WM. Sure, it's been 2 weeks since, but... Mr. Sir, I just want to give you some advice. Maybe you'll use it, maybe not. Lemme say that the smiley faces are rather ... well ... gay.* And superfluous, too, since I think the things you say are usually hard to misconstrue. Hope you don't take this as a slight, 'cause I like you. Really. You're oodles better than all the morons.** Just some advice. Friendly ... friendly ... advice. * You best believe I said that, ya homo-neggers. ** Not that everyone here is a moron; not at all. Yeah, most of you ... but not all of you.
