Nwa on tv will it ever happen

Recommended Posts

Just curious as why people choose the NWA in the poll, is it because of the TBS show which became WCW?  Is this just a sign of nostigelia or is there a strong following of NWA Wildside which is being shown on local non-network channels.  The nostigelia got my vote whats your reason.

Is there any chance of NWA in any form or affialiate to be a real national promotion on cable tv?

I blame CHRIS CANDIDO for the NWA not getting a show.  I did like his and Tammy's gimmick BEFORE THEY GOT UGLY AND CRACK ADDICTED.  So, to Tammy and Chris, GET OFF THE CRACK AND STOP BEING UGLY.

WARNING-I'M ONLY HALF KIDDING

Anyways, AS THE CREATOR OF "THE BEST WRESTLING PROMOTION EVER POLL", I'm glad the NWA won.  They need to NOT reconise all the champions after Ric Flair in 91, IMO.  Flair should be the real last champion, happening in 91, a title tournament should be declared again.

I think Corino would be better as Junior Heavyweight.  Also, to get on TV, the NWA must start having NOTHING to do with the WWF.  Someone like Heyman would be a good Prez.

Except Heyman (and Shane Douglas) essentially took a crap on the NWA and ruined any credibility they had left.

And the WWF/NWA angle in 1998 never helped.

Anybody else catch the irony of the WWF leaving the NWA, only for the NWA to need the WWF 15 years later for a publicity boost?

I think that Heyman should be in charge of Publicity for NWA but he cannot run the business.  Maybe Jim Cornette could be president, he was responsible for Smokey Mountain Wrestling success right?

Can it be possible for the affiates to put on a show with the best main eventers for a Clash of Champions type of show on Prime time?

lol New Midnight Express Bob Holly & Bart Gunn and North American Champ Jeff Jarret :P

Ummm, I never saw/voted in that thread, so dunno if it was of all time or just current promotions, but is the NWA still around? I thought they became WCW? I have no idea, but then, I'm not really knowledgable in anything except WWF current affairs of the past year, since thats all I've ever watched in wrestling.  Hmmm... maybe this question belongs in the "old stuff" folder.

I think most people remember WCW as the NWA. If you asked someone on the street what the NWA is, they'll either say a music group, don't know or if they know the answer WCW. I doubt most casual fans even know the NWA is still around.

I like the Clash of Champions idea someone mentioned earlier.  Maybe if Turner decides to go after a wrestling federation, he will chose the NWA, like he did in the past.

Actually, GORDAN and Douglas took a crap on the NWA, not Heyman.  Corny would be okay for President, maybe Ric Flair could be Prez, though.

The NWA is still alive but after WCW and ECW leaving the company is on life support barely making it as a minor league of sorts working in high school gyms, civic centers, fair grounds.  At this moment I think Wildside is the most successful one on tv unless NWA East has a syndicated show.

I think Cornette is on the Board Of Directors.   NWA Southwest is also syndicated on America One.  I read that on 411 a while ago.
