Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 If (IF?!) Raw sucks, at least MLW looks good tonight.
Guest Jesse Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 I saw that show live, and It's worth checking out. Dutt/Yang has some great spots and Funk/Lawler is a good brawl, better than I expected it to be.
PsychoDriver Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Sounds like a good show, I won't be able to watch it because it doesn't look like FOX SPORTS Digital is playing it tonight. Sucks, I really wanted to see Sonjay Vs. Yang, But of course I got to see Funk Vs. Abby Last week with everything that meant be considered entertainment cut out of it.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Was Lawler/Funk like Abby/Funk where everything wil lbe clipped out for TV, or is it just a nice brawl with good crowd energy?
Guest Jesse Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Was Lawler/Funk like Abby/Funk where everything wil lbe clipped out for TV, or is it just a nice brawl with good crowd energy? There shouldn't be nearly as much editing, but Terry did bleed a good bit, so some clipping will probably take place. I think they will be able to keep enough of it intact so it will come across well on tv.

I can't tell from the Abby/Funk clip jobs, but it looked like they only cut away when Abdullah was carving Funks face or vice versa.

There was one point in the match where Lawler went to work on Terry's head with a fistfull of barbed wire. Like I said, though, the editing won't be nearly as bad as Abby/Terry. That thing was a bloodbath.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Wow, Lawler can still be a dickhead heel. And Joey Styles, sounded like Jerry to me.
Guest Jesse Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Wow, they butchered the hell out of that match. I thought for sure they'd show more of it than that. And you're right Raven. There were several clear Jerry chants, including the one where Styles said it was a Funk chant.
Guest Gatornibs Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I was there too, and they murdered the Funk/Lawler match on TV. The whole War Games thing took way too long to set up, Sandman added nothing, and Sonjay owns
OldSchoolWrestling Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I have a very hard time hearing the wrestlers in the ring when they get on the mic. They need to improve that as I had no idea what they were saying on a few occasions.
