That pick/fumble recovery was unbelievable. This game is going to be an instant classic.

Fake field goal, Miami had a guy wide open and he dropped it in the end zone.

That was the funniest thing I've seen all year in college football.

By the way, I hate Miami.

Damn I had a migrane and had to lay down for a while and turn the t.v. back on and see Miami down 24-0.

Barring a miracle the shit is just about to hit the fan in the BCS. USC I think definently moves up #2 in both voter polls but the major thing is to see how far Miami falls. I wouldn't vote Florida State higher than them but some people will since Miami is just getting killed...31-0 now just as I type. Miami did have a fairly large margin over Florida State for the #2 spot in the BCS coming in. Also how far will Virginia Tech move up now and do they now have a case for playing in the Sugar Bowl? The odds of them getting there are slim and none since they fell all the way to #16 after the West Virginia loss.

Got to love CONTROVERSY~!

Goodbye Hurricanes..it was nice knowin ya.

31-0 Hokies, still a whole quarter to play.

So I guess FSU is the new BCS #2 since they won and they were #3 in last week's poll. Thats some BS, especially since USC will be the new #2 in the regular polls.

Came home from work at 6, crashed, and woke up to see VT up 17-0 over Miami

And now, one Berlin INT and two TDs later, plus Berlin getting the hook, and VT up 31-0

Even before VT losing to WV, I never could have imagined it being this bad

I'm convinced personally that the NCAA football powers-that-be just love FSU (and Nebraska also, but this ain't about them), as they always get breaks in the polls, even when fielding subpar teams

And it wouldn't be the first time either (see: 2000)

But hell, I'll watch an OU-FSU rematch, and this time I'd hope the Sooners beat them even worse than '00

I want USC in the Sugar Bowl but the part of me that wants the BCS to go away would looooooooove it if Florida State gets the #2 spot to be OU's whipping boys for a 2nd time.

*cough* Tournament. *cough*

It's official now, 31-7.

I predict Miami won't fall too far... maybe lower top ten, since they did lose to the #11 team (unlike VT losing to unranked WV), and they may still have a chance to get in

Though I wonder how they may be hurt by NCAA pollings little "early loss = still has a chance, late loss = forget about it" formula

Oh Miami won't even drop out of the Top 5 and USC is the only team for sure that will move ahead of them. LSU I think is the team that will benefit the most because some voters will move Florida State down to keep Miami ahead of them and no one will want to move Ohio State up in the polls after just barely beating an awful Penn State team.

Oh and Angleslayer you are dead on about the early and late season loss thing. I mean if Oklahoma were to get run the table but then get upset in the Big 12 Championship (not likley to say the least) they would be in danger of dropping out of the Top 2 simply because they lost late in the season.

Oh and on non-related note Arkansas and Kentucky are going to a 6th "overtime" on ESPN2. The record is seven.

Kentucky/Arkansas has been one hell of a game. I just wonder when it's going to end.

Thanks. I've seen it happen many times over the years, the most personal time being when Kansas State got mega-screwed over in '98 after running the regular season table and looking to go against Tennessee in the championship, only to lose to f'king Texas A&M in the Big12 champ game on a bad OT TD call, then not only did not make the BCS title game, they didn't even get a BCS wild-card invitation, they dropped out of the BCS bowl picture entirely, and not only did not even get a NYD bowl, but went to a Dec 28th f'king Holiday Bowl game against 7-4 Purdue.

I'm not bitter... really... 1998 was a bad football year for me, with KSU and the Vikings coming oh so close...

In 2000 though, I adopted OU as my other favorite Big 12 team when they actually earned my respect (something Nebraska will never do) by beating KSU in two tough close games before winning the title, so I'd be all too glad to see them win it again.

Damn I'm rambling...

That was Arkansas-Ole Miss from a couple years ago, right? Coach Nutt must love those marathon games

They need to dump the overtime rule. This arcade football crap with a short field and tired defenses just doesn't do it for me. Make teams drive the length of the field and time the overtime. Give teams equal possesions so it doesn't come down to a coin flip like in the NFL but at least keep some intergrity to the game.

It is funny how a game could end 0-0 in regulation, and then wind up with a final score up in the 40s after several OTs

Does anyone remember the controversy the year OU won the National Championship. I remember people saying they didn't earn it because FSU had been beaten by Miami. And OU never beat Miami. So they couldn't call themselves national champions....get over it bitches...OU was undefeated.

And I have a feeling they'll be undefeated this year. What's left? Texas A&M...which I'm probably going to go to. We'll stomp them. Baylor....*stifles laughter*....and Texas Tech. I don't really forsee any problems. And then the conference championship which will more than likely be against either Missouri or Nebraska. We've already beaten Missouri and I'm pretty sure we could take Nebraska. So....I think OU will go all the way....again.

Man....more money for my school...but not to improve the education....just to build flower gardens....god I hate the fucking president of OU. "Everything is beautiful! What? The buildings are falling apart! Let's give Bob Stoops another million dollars!"

The controversy wasn't Oklahoma being national champion, at least not in my view, but Florida State being the opponent. The purpose of the BCS is supposedly to match-up the two best teams in the country and Florida State was not the 2nd best team in the country that year as both Miami and Washington had legit complaints. If you finish the season as the lone undefeated though then you are the undisputed champion and the BCS has just lucked out so far in that retrospect.

Yes and I don't see Oklahoma losing the rest of the way. Every team has a scare every year and they had one against Alabama and almost had a let down game against Colorado and they survived both so they should cruise the rest of the way.

This was the main thing I was referring to earlier when I said FSU gets breaks in the poll. No way did they deserve to go to the '00 title game against OU, where their play was so sloppy that the only points they had was a safety that OU spotted to them on purpose and thus proved that they didn't belong there.

But Bowden is a darling of both the sports media and the coaches organization, so of course FSU gets breaks on both account... and like I said, I found this to be a big issue with Tom Osborne too, and to a lesser extent Solich today (see: Nebraska getting undeserved title shot nod in '01)

What sucks now is that this is the fourth straight season in which the football deities have teased us with a possible OU-Miami champ game (just like the 80's again) and then took it away.

Yeah an OU/Miami championship game will probably give us some suspense and make a great game. It'd be close...maybe...Miami did get spanked tonight.

However if OU plays Florida State or Washington State I don't think there is any doubt that they'd win the National Championship.

They killed Florida State last time they won a championship and then beat Washington in the Rose Bowl last year and as of right now I don't think those two teams are anywhere CLOSE to being as good as OU.

Football is just a tradition in Oklahoma. Actually we're pretty good at all college sports...because this fucking state doesn't have anything else to be good at...except for Tornado's and Terrorist Attacks.

I'm just happy my team and my school may be winning the championship again.

They got screwed by OSU in 2001 and OSU and A&M in 2002. Ok they didn't get screwed...they screwed themselves by taking the teams to lightly. But they're hungry this year.

Yay tornados! <waves flag>

They did lose to Nebraska legitimately though in '01 (I can still see that damn flea flicker play to Crouch in my head), so that already put their repeat title hopes in jeopardy, though, had they not lost to OSU, I'd like to see how the controversy might've turned out with three one-loss teams (Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon) all in a spot for that shot against Miami

And after A&M's beating of KSU in '98, and them beating OU last year, they've shot right up there with Nebraska and Not The Ohio State Luckeyes as my most hated teams in college football

I really don't think anybody will beat OU. Miami is obviously not the team they were thought to be. And being a semi FSU fan they have just gotten lucky. There aren't even close to championship caliber.

Well obviously it won't be Washington State after today.

Here are the one loss teams from BCS conferences left and their remaing schedules:

Florida State (vs. N.C. State, at Florida)

-N.C. State has underachieved so should win there but wow that Florida game looks a lot tougher than it did earlier in the season.

LSU (at Alabama, at Mississippi, vs. Arkansas, SEC Title game?)

-Not an easy road there but if they do run the table and a couple of other teams lose they could be the wild card in the race for the Sugar Bowl.

Miami (vs. Tennesee, vs. Syracuse, vs. Rutgers, at Pittsburgh)

-I think should run the table, Tennessee isn't that good and they'll be at home and some will think upset against Pittsburgh but I don't think so. Definently still have a shot depending how far they fall in the voter polls.

OHHHio State (vs. Michigan State, vs. Purdue, at Michigan)

-They could lose all three or pull out the sledge and win all three. If they run the table and fall backwards into the Sugar Bowl then Jim Tressel definently sold his soul to the devil.

USC (at Arizona, vs. UCLA, vs. Oregon State)

-No reason at all they don't win all three even though UCLA and Oregon St. aren't pushovers but since they are at home should be no problem. If they win out the BCS better hope they are ahead of Florida State in the final poll. Oklahoma-USC would be the best match-up possible even better than Oklahoma-Miami.

Virginia Tech (at Pittsburgh, at Temple, Boston College, at Virginia)

-Potential let down game against the Larry Fitzgerald's next week and they are a different on the road but have a good shot at running the table. Problem is their BCS ranking took a beating last week so they'll need a miracle to get into the Sugar Bowl at this point.

Oh and Bama will beat LSU and Aurburn.

I would be willing to bet Bama will also beat MSU and Hawaii.

Errr I'm trying to see where I said OU is going to lose. Anyways USC is the one team I see giving them a good game, better than Miami because USC has a much better offense. I'd still pick Oklahoma as the winner if they do end up meeting in the Sugar Bowl.

The football program's been around for over a century, of course they have

Even if you limit it to the last 5 years, they lost their '99 bowl game to Mississippi State, which was their last loss before kicking off the '00 championship season
