Everyone Unite: Lets put an end to that rap music

*points to music folder AGAIN*

How about you read what I said. For reference, I said, in my own personal experience, it's the other way around, and that I think it's mostly a case-by-case basis. Now, if you want me to bring all of my friends to post in the music folder, okay, but I think we'd be a lot better off if you just took my word on this, especially as I have absolutely zero reason to lie about this. And, for what it's worth, it's the adult contemporary stations that make fun of rap out here, moreso than the rock ones (one, really). In any case, it didn't seem like you were allowing for much of a dissenting opinion, which somewhat hampers a debate or discussion.

Bringing up a opposing opinion is not calling the other wrong or write. You stated that in your experience X has happened, I pointed to and cited experiences where Y has happened. Not once did I say "No, it NOT in your experience that that is the case because I am RIGHT!!"

All right, but we'd already heard your opinion, and I gave mine, and then you gave yours again. Seemed like the only reason to do so would be an argumentative one. If I misread, I apologize; there's been a lot of hostility in this thread, and I may have jumped the gun.

Here, maybe this will make it clearer. Here's what I saw:

I find metal fans to be far more condecending to rap music than vice versa.

I've found the complete opposite to be true, that rap fans are FAR more condescending, and tend to laugh at and mock metal, whereas most metal fans keep quiet enough.

Then...

*points to music folder AGAIN*

See, the way I took that was "no, see, this is how it is, like this." If that's not what you meant, okay. But just so you all know I'm not crazy.

Also, I did try to only stick to what I know. I know rock fans, and I know my own experiences. I know a smidge about hip-hop culture, but that is it. So, I shared what I knew.

have heard 5 stations (FUCKING FIVE) just here in Atlanta that have made their own "Rap" song and took it around to malls and shit for people to listen to it and see if they could "fool" them into thinking it was real rap. They would have some name like "Pimp masta Bling" or some shit.
Sounds like a morning talk show stunt to me.

2 Morning shows, 2 mid-day shows and one evening show. I mean, the morning shows, cool. They are there to bother people, but jesus. EVENING??

I'd have to agree with Ripper here. As a fan of oldies, rock, alternative/metal and rap, it seems that more metal fans are ignorant to an opposing product.

Me too. Although I only go to "Kill them Machine...Kill them ALL!!"

Maybe if I get some more quotes I would be in less trouble.

I am going to agree with Ripper. If you want to see it for truth, just go to this music folder and say the word Rap. You would have TMD being the first to spit some retarded shit like DMX talking about killing is the same as Jill Scott singing about love.

The TSM Hall of Fame was a fun idea I had to see how many would jump in with "RAP SUCKS! BLING BLING HO" and suprised it wasn't filled with that.

It just funny watching people like Anglesault piss and moan over Eminem sampling Dream On and making a good song out of it. While SKBF screams 50 SUCK because he gets a little too much radio play. Then have Plush say he was happy JMJ was shot and killed. The retardedness of these comments are too funny. People just don't think or some people are too coked up to know what common sense and to think "Does this make me look like a dumbass?" Sadly it is yes, and they still think no.

Counterpoint:

Your evidence is this Music folder, which Incandenza is the champion of, and more importantly, Damaramu, SKBF, Anglesault, and fucking MARIO are your suspects.

It seems to me that your entire point is against dipshits, and not a supposed "rival" genre of music, which, by and large, could give two shits about the other.

They're completely different scenes, which renders comparison idiotic, and most attempts at hybrids to be failures and mockeries. In fact, the only times I can think of this genre bending to be good are with Stuck Mojo, Snot, and Body Count. Other than that, pick one or the other.

All I have to say is that Judgement Night Soundtrack was a great concept album. Nothing is greater than Ice-T with Slayer "We don't need another fucking war"

There is some cool shit on that album, but that's rap artists playing with metal artists, not one homogenized band blending the two genres. There was a similar album called Loud Rocks, which is a little more recent. I don't remember anything standing out to me, but if you dig that sort of thing, you'd probably like it.

Ice Cube with Korn was good tooooooooo~

As for Loud Rocks well I found a few songs but did not really like it. As for bands that try to the combine rap and rock well I like Quarishi "stick em up"

That's what he did. He took some nothing song that no one has ever enjoyed and has never made money, screamed over it and rapped around it, making it an incredible hit for the first time.

Eminem screams?

Give me the lyrics right now and tell me what's happening while they have the clip of Tyle singing.

Come on Banky...he said COME ON!! in the hook once or twice. Therefore he screamed all over the song. And if you ignore all of the good lyrics in it then it was a pretty bad remake. Of course if you ignore all the lyrics you are left with a instrumental of the original but you know, complaining is KEWL~!

These ideas are nightmares for white parents

Whose worst fear is a child with dyed hair and who likes earrings

Like whatever they say has no bearing

Its so scary in a house that allows no swearing

To see him walking around with his headphones blaring

Alone in his own zone, cold and he dont care

He's a problem child, what bothers him all comes out

When he talks about his fuckin' dad walkin out

Cos he hates him so bad that he blocks him out

But if he ever saw him again, he'd prolly knock him out

His thoughts are whacked, he's mad so he's talkin' back

Talkin black, brainwashed from rock and rap

He sags his pants, doo rags and a stocking cap

His step-father hit him so he socked him back

And broke his nose, this house is a broken home

There's no control, he just lets his emotions go

Come on...

[Chorus:]

Sing with me, sing for the year

Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear

Sing with me,just for today

Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

[Verse #2]

Entertainment is danger, intertwine it with gansters

In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum

Only you're unholy, only have one homey

Only this gun, lonely, cuz don't anyone know me

But everybody just feels like they can relate

I guess words are a motherfucker, they can be great

Or they can be great, or even worse, they can teach hate

Its like kids hang on every single statement we make

Like they worship us, plus all the stores ship us platinum

Now how the fuck did this metamorphasis happen?

From standin' on corners and porches just rappin'

To havin' a fortune, no more kissin' ass

But then these critics crucify you, journalists try to burn you

Fans turn on you, attorney's all gonna turn it to

To get their hands on every dime you have

They want you to lose your mind every time you mad

So they can try to make you out to look like a loose canon

You need to spew, dont hesitate to produce air-guns

Thats why these prosecutors wanna convict me

Swiftly just to get me offa these streets quickly

But all their kids been listen'n to me religiously

So i'm signing cds while police fingerprint me

They're for the judges daughter, but his grudge is against me

If i'm such a fuckin' menace, this shit doesnt make sense, B.

It's all political, if my music is literal and i'm a criminal,

How the fuck can i raise a little girl?

I couldn't. i wouldn't be fit to

You're full of shit too, Guerrera, that was a fist that hit you!

[Chorus]

[Verse #3]

They say music can alter moods and talk to you

But can it load a gun for you and cock it too?

Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude

Just tell the judge it was my fault, and i'll get sued

See what these kids do, is hear about us toting pistols

And they want to get one, cos they think the shit's cool

Not knowin' we're really just protectin' ourselves

We're entertainers, of course this shit's affecting our sales

You ignoramus. but music is reflection of self

We just explain it, and then we get our cheques in the mail

It's fucked up ain't it, how we can come from practically nothin'

To bein' able to have any fuckin' thing that we wanted

It's why we sing for these kids that don't have a thing

Except for a dream and a fucking rap magazine

Who post pinup pictures on their walls all day long

Idolise their favourite rappers and know all they songs

Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in they lives

So they sit and they cry at night, wishing they die

Till they throw on a rap record, and they sit and they vibe

We're nothing to you, but we're the fuckin' shit in their eyes

That's why we sieze the moment, and try to freeze it and own it

Squeeze it and hold it, 'cos we consider these minutes golden

And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone

Just let our spirits live on, through out lyrics that you hear in our songs

And we can

[Chorus]

[Chorus Without Beat]

[instrumental]

Point me to the where he was screaming. All I rememeber were the COMEON!!!!! screams. But of course, I was listening to the song for its content and not something to complain about.
