I mean, Stone Cold protects his spot like hell and does bad things (as his character), but nobody ever notices because what he offers them is so enticing, in his performance (both smarks and marks alike).

Where did you pull that out of? Austin was good back when he gave a damn. Now he's just trying to, yeah, protect his spot.

Austin still gives a damn, that's why he didn't want to work with the nWo, because he (rightly) feels they are bad for the WWF.
