Guest Sakura Report post Posted September 22, 2003 I like backtracking in most X games, but there's just too much in X5 and X6. Going through entire levels again is boring. Also there is TOO MUCH crap to look for. Heart pieces, parts and tanks are good in the others. Tons of armor pieces is overkill. X and X2 are better than X5 and X6....so I guess the SNES games are overall better. But X4 is just too good. I like all 6 though, when I say X3 is the "worst" it's really just the "worst" out of 6 games I really like. X1 = best music!
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Last I remember, the armor pieces were optional. Completing the level to actually hold on them--what's wrong with that? X4 was too short and lackluster to me. X1 being "too easy" may be your opinion, but the difficulty was fine for me back when I played it...except for that final level, which I had a bitch of a time with. Then of course, I could just say you're way, way, way more skilled with me in the games and probably why even today you'd deem games I thought had fine difficulty are "too easy." So, whatever. You probably beat X4 blindfolded then.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Yeah, they're optional, but you need them to get other stuff(like heart tanks and heart pieces). I picked up Megaman & Bass today for GBA. Never bothered to play it on an emulater even though it's always been hyped. So far I've beaten 6 bosses and found it to be about what I was expecting: basically MM9, which is a good thing. Technically it's Mega Man 7.5, actually, since it was based on the Mega Man 7 engine. I guess I see what you mean about the armor pieces, but they weren't too hard to get for me, so I see it as a pointless complaint. *shrug* (Note: will respond to that *other* thread later. Between classes, not much time...)
Guest Sakura Report post Posted September 22, 2003 I said it was like MM9 because it takes place after 8.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2003 And in related news: "Capcom announced a new Rockman RPG title for PlayStation 2 and GameCube called Rockman X Command Mission. The game will have action elements, a great degree of freedom and a lot of new characters."
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Update on that, Renegade. Mega Man X Command Mission (PS2) This is one of the few truly new games shown at the event, and it's a surprise. It's an all-new Mega Man X adventure … and it's an RPG with turn-based battles. The graphics are advanced, much more so than the forthcoming Mega Man X 7. The game, from what we were shown, seems to follow a rather typical RPG style -- exploration, battling. You'll control X, Zero, and X7's Axl, as well as new female characters and more. The hope is to bring RPG fans into the Mega Man X universe while keeping its feel intact and pleasing fans of the series with a new type of game. Action touches -- like charge beams and special move attacks -- are being added to the battles to keep them more live for the fans of the action games. It may not sound promising, but it looked more than passable judging from what was shown. I don't like turn-based though...couldn't they make a modified, souped up version of the Battle Network games? This preview makes it sound like a cliche standard RPG with Mega Man characters in it. So unless they do something revolutionary in it, sounds like a pass.
