Date: September 12, 2003

Hosts: Wade Needham & Kyle Johnson

Website: World-Wrestling.net

He is perhaps the greatest manager of all time, and his name is Bobby Heenan. The man known as "The Brain" recently stepped into the studio for a very interesting interview that lasted a long 52 minutes, and below are highlights of the interview:

-- Bobby said that Bobby Heenan is his stage name, that his real name is Ray and that he doesn't watch wrestling now. He said it's just not the same wrestling he grew up with, which Wade & Kyle agreed that it's not the same that even they grew up watching in the 80s and early 90s.

-- Bobby asked Wade & Kyle if they've read his book, they said no because they hadn't had access to purchasing it. At the end of the interview they told Bobby they'd pick up his book the next day, he told them to also pick up some uh, female loving.

-- When asked about his thoughts on the Iron Sheik calling Hulk Hogan "a faggot", Heenan believed that Sheik was trying to not break kayfabe, and that the man had is rough since his daughter was murdered shortly after Miss Elizabeth passed away.

-- The autobiography was brought up again, and Bobby said he's near finishing his second book about general situations that people are in. The book should be done around November 1st, and to hit the shelves of bookstores in March or April of 2004.

-- The demise of WCW was brought up, and Heenan went on to blame Eric Bischoff for the demise of the company for hiring people who didn't know what they were doing. Bill Busch was brought up, and Heenan said Busch only had short limited power, and that it wasn't even him or the creative team to take WCW down, it was Bischoff.

-- Bobby also expressed he thinks the current state of pro wrestling is dead. He compared it to a magician telling his secret of making a train disappear, as soon as people know, it's mystique is gone and interest in it dies down.

-- The subject of being diagnosed with cancer was brought up as well, and Bobby went into detail about that. He said his voice was changed because of the radiation, and he said "it sounds like I'm making out with Mr. Ed".

-- September 11th was brought up, and Bobby said in 1993 he was with Randy Savage at the Twin Towers to do an interview with Don Imus, and two days later the buildings were bombed. Heenan said when September 11th happened, all he can think about was that he was there, and it could've been him.

-- Gorilla Monsoon was brought up, and Heenan said that was the highlight of his entire career to work with Monsoon. He said they never had a script, everything just came natural to them, and he had much fun working with Monsoon.

-- Curt Hennig was brought up as well, and Heenan said he considered Hennig as a son and that it's sad when people go too soon in their lives, and how Hennig was a great human being.

I'm not sure I'd ever heard that Iron Sheik comment.

check my earlier posting on the Iron Shiek interview he did.

Is HHH airing his arm pits? Anyway, I think Heenan is exaggerating that pro wrestling is dead. People like Benoit and Guerrero are excellent examples of great pro wrestlers.

What Heenan probably meant, is all the lesbianism, McMahons on TV and so on killing pro wrestling, but the wrestling business was exposed a long time ago.

Or maybe I'm wrong, and Heenan's right.
