Guest Brian Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Yeah, but I've only seen one played one disc. See, the one I got is from China, whereas he has the American version. It plays great, region one, English with no subtitles, but has eight discs rather than six and no guide insert. Otherwise, it's great, but I want that little insert and six disc are easier than eight. I'd be willing to drop it for around $15 and shipping, which is actually less that I paid for it but since I opened it.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Is there any more extra ones on the China one?
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 28, 2004 I don't know, but I doubt it. Like I said, I have no guide so I'd have to search it out.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 If it was still sealed, I'd buy it from you cheap, bring it to a FYE and get $65 of credit.

dubq 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Angel September TV Movie is a HOAX !?! From Buffy.nu - By RavenU - 2004-04-28th Reply to the article First ANGEL TV Movie May Hit in September I saw Mercedes McNab this past weekend at a convention and she said none of the cast has heard about doing a movie, and they think it is a hoax that the WB is pulling on the fans to placate them and to get them to keep watching the WB next season. So if the movie was really going to happen in Sept you think they would be in contract negociations with the actors about it at this time and they would have heard something. If they were going to be airing in Sept they would have to be filming it in June or July, which means contracts would have to be done now at the latest, since that’s not happening I don’t see this happening. Why did James Marsters shave his head if there are Angel movies still to be made?
Max Danger 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Well, no one said they were going to start making Angel movies right away, did they? I mean, Joss has Firefly to start making soon, so Angel movies are probably the last thing on his mind at this juncture. And the actors will most likely take time away from the entire Angel thing(and justifiably so), take a vacation, then take some other jobs, and the movies(if they will even do them) will get done when all parties are free to do so. And it's because of that I don't think they'll ever get done, which I have no problems with. Anyway, James cut it for charity or something. I know him doing it raised $25,000 for something or another. But I'm sure he wanted to just because had hadn't been able to do anything drastic with his hair since the fourth season of Buffy. Now, since Angel's done he can cut his hair and get a freakin' tan.

Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Wow. That was a great, surreal episode. Seeing Illyria kill everyone? Crazy, especially seeing Spike dusted; that gave me chills. Anyway, the last scene is really setting up for something. Shades of Angelus? "We're serving our clients"...I see something big coming out of that. And next week? Vespas! Italy! Andrew! Buffy Who Won't Actually Be in the Episode! Time Bomb gets a B+
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 My head hurts from trying to follow tonight's episode. I actually turned to the rest of the family after the Gunn/Wes scene in Wes' office and said, "Something about this episode seems slightly off." That feeling stuck with me the whole episode. It seemed slightly skewed the whole time. People acted slightly differently, lines were said differently, it even seemed like camera angles were different from usual. I don't know it just seemed weird tonight.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Sometime in August for season 4 to come out on DVD. Once again, another good episode this week but not "A Hole in the World" good. 1. Illyria going into the Suburbia Hell Dimension and freeing Gunn was gang star. I liked the fact that Gunn was willing to stay there; he knows what he did was horrible and he deserves to be punished. That is one thing about Gunn that rules, he is a man about everything. 2. I didn't know what to think about Illyria at first, but over time she has gotten on my good side. She is a VERY interesting character and too bad this is the final season because there is a lot of depth to her. I'd love to see a flashback episode with her in it. 3. Spike and Illyria fighting was once again gold, mostly because of the chemistry they have together. The whole cheating thing was pretty sweet too. 4. It's amazing how much his character has grown over 6 seasons, including Buffy season 3. If someone told you what Wes was going to be like back then, there is no way you would believe it. However, Wes is just going crazy. Plain old going crazy. 5. Lorne was gold this week too, with him following Illyria around. "Do you even know how to work this thing?" And when Angel just knocked his head off was fuckin gold. 6. Hamilton is a pretty interesting character himself. There is just something about him that I don't like, I think it is the way he acts. The only thing I don't like about him is that he isn't as sexy as Eve is. 7. Hmm, so Illyria knows the Senior Partners and they don't want her around either. Well it looks like they weren't the ones who brought her back. It is either that Knox did it on his own or that it was the Powers that Be. 8. The whole time traveling thing was pretty sweet. When Spike got dusted, I screamed holy shit. Then I remembered that Angel goes back into time, since it said in the description of the show, so I wasn't that worried. 9. I think I have the ending figured out. Angel isn't "serving" his clients, he is just trying to go along with everything that way the Senior Partners think he is with them or something like that. But of course he isn't and he will kick some ass because, well, it is Angel. Next week's preview didn't give us much insight, which really annoys me. I can't believe there are only 3 EPISODES LEFT!! RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Oh god... oh god... that episode was fucking awesome. I loved every second of it. About a half hour in I checked the time because I was worried I wouldn't have enough. I read the spoilers, but it didn't come close to doing this show justice. 1. This episode had everything from everyone. Lorne got time, Wes got time, Gunn got time, Illyria got time, Angel got time, HAMILTON~! got time. A very, very satisfying episode. 2. Hamilton fucking OWNSES! Adam Baldwin is fucking loving this character and we love it too! "I still like him better than Eve". He plays it straight, and it couldn't be played better. 3. The opening was righteous as it started off (IIRC) the same way the last episode did, hinting at things to come. Illyria has more than made up for the loss of Fred IMO. Having the monster kill itself is classic Whedon (can I say that?). 4. Amy Acker is soooo fucking working this character and might overtake Gunn for the player of the year... cause Gunn isn't so much fuckable as he was good. "This one is lusting after me" The "this happened before" was a great throw-in cause they made sense of it with Wes talking about time and mechanics (which got thrown out the window ) when it really was Illyria defying all that. 5. CRAZY WES is not BADASS WES, but it's a step above PUSSY-ASS BRITISH WES & ROGUE DEMON HUNTER WES and around BROODING WES. 6. "We'll have the organic cola" *BIG POP*!! Them, in general, ruled when they said "3rd trimester~!" 7. Illyria killing the gang was motherfucking FUCKING WOMPASS! I never expected that. Just pure OWNAGE. It sucks that they had to zap her of some of her powers cause that's the main appeal of Illyria - she talks game and she plays game. Hopefully she'll still do that, cause whe she picked up Angel and slammed him against the wall, that was BADACE. "Well that's mature!" 8. 9. That was in reference to what they are doing. Don't miss the second last episode, I promise it will blow your fucking mind. 10. Have I mentioned how amazing this season is? Cause I'm thinking when its over, we're in Buffy Season 5 territory, and it might just be the new MEASURING STICK.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 The Senior Partners and Illyria thing is rocking my world, cause they still could have brought her back just so they could kill her - you know, Cyrus Vail style, where just being locked up doesn't mean you're gone. AAAAND Wes breaking the memory box cause he thought it would bring back Fred was a beautiful touch. This isn't some bullshit City of Angels thing where "at least I had her for one moment" type deal, this is "I don't know how I can live without her" torture and there is no easy solution... there may be no solution. Guest JMA Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Have I mentioned how amazing this season is? Cause I'm thinking when its over, we're in Buffy Season 5 territory, and it might just be the new MEASURING STICK. I think it's already past season five Buffy. There's no Dracula and Not-Yet-Likeable Dawn. I can't really find any obvious flaws in this season. I've enjoyed every minute of it.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 The Dracula episode is really underrated, and it set the themes for the entire season. Dawns peak was in season 5. *checks calendar* Yeah, I think it's time for another Season 5 love-fest We'll have to see how this season plays out and if the series finale is as good as The Gift. Hole in the World was moreso "Body" ****1/2-3/4 level, while the Gift - IMO - was *****. As things are shaping up and if the spoilers are any indication, we could have a new ***** episode, thus changing the whole fucking system. RRR: Sad _very sad_ that Firefly never saw a Season 5... of course, Firefly was its own Season
Guest JMA Report post Posted April 29, 2004 The Dracula episode is really underrated, and it set the themes for the entire season. Dawns peak was in season 5. Eh, I'm not a big fan of the Dracula episode. I've always prefered the Whedon vamps to the old-school ones. The theme was a good one, but I kind of dislike the fact that a filler villain like Dracula set it in motion. As for Dawn, I liked her better in season seven. Season five Dawn wasn't as bad as some people make her out to be, but she wasn't exactly good either. Speaking of season five, I always wanted to know more about Hell-Gods. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Eh, I'm not a big fan of the Dracula episode. I've always prefered the Whedon vamps to the old-school ones. I was the same way. I didn't like the novelty of it, and in some ways I don't now. But if you actually read the script of the episode, and then watch it again when you put the novelty aside, it's fucking hilarious. As for Dawn, I liked her better in season seven. Season five Dawn wasn't as bad as some people make her out to be, but she wasn't exactly good either. I hated Dawn in Season 7. Her telling Buffy to get out of the house pissed me off. IMO, the top Dawn moment was her putting her shoes away in The Gift. Plus, Dawn made way for more SPIKE, which -in Season 5- was primo shit. Speaking of season five, I always wanted to know more about Hell-Gods. I want to know about Hell-Dimensions, period. I want to know about the Qwartah (SP? - the place Connor grew up in), and the other two (I believe) Hell Gods who kicked Glory out. Big fucking universe they created, which sucks that Angel has to end now w/o exploring it.

I want to know about the Qwartah (SP? - the place Connor grew up in), and the other two (I believe) Hell Gods who kicked Glory out. Big fucking universe they created, which sucks that Angel has to end now w/o exploring it. Indeed. There are SO much more things that could be done. The other Hell-Gods are only the tip of the iceberg. What exactly are they? Demons who ascended to a new state of existence? A race older than the entire demon race? Personafications of abstract ideas that inhabit many different dimensions? Speaking of Cortoth, when it was first shown I thought it might've been the place Buffy sent Angel at the end of season two. But that's probably not too likely. Here's another interesting concept: what was the source of Drusilla's visions? Could she have been an early agent of the PTB? Skip showed us that human agents were chosen to receive the gift of sight in the past (though they soon died from it). Or maybe they were a scientific phenomenon. Who knows? RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 The whole "age before man" thing is really interesting, which is partially why I find Illyria such a fun character. I would imagine that the hell dimensions were made when the gods left earth - if we are to assume that earth was the centre of it all... which is a question onto itself. Was the earth they talk about Earth earth, or some metaphysical realm in its place?

I would imagine that the hell dimensions were made when the gods left earth - if we are to assume that earth was the centre of it all... which is a question onto itself. Was the earth they talk about Earth earth, or some metaphysical realm in its place? I know there's been some debate over whether demons came from the Earth in the first place and THEN left for the demon dimensions; or if they came from the dimensions, ruled the Earth, and then left again. I know Joss' concept of the pre-mankind demons was based largely on H.P. Lovecraft's "Old Ones" (hence the name). And we saw this season that some of the pure, full demons are in a state of living death, waiting to be awakened. Joss' sense of continuity has always impressed me. It's hard to believe the Old Ones concept was introduced all the way back in the Buffy pilot. Edit: Man, I could talk about this stuff for hours.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I think you are a little biased about Hamilton RRR. He hasn't done enough for me to like him that much. Reaching season 5 level of Buffy? Errrr, that is stretching it. The first 8 episodes of this season are no where as good as the first 8 episodes of Buffy season 5. But you forgot about "You're Welcome" and how much that owned. And "Dracula vs Buffy" sets up season 5 SO much. Giles needing to stay to keep things calm (he was gone in season 6 and looked what happened), Willow doing the fire thing for the burgers which shows how powerful she is getting, "Blood is life," and Dawn comes into the picture. Since I don't think we have ever done this, I'm going to list my favorite Buffy AND Angel episodes, in order. Damn, this is gonna be tough. 1. The Wish 2. Apocalypse, Nowish 3. A Hole in the World 4. Passion 5. The Gift 6. Spin the Bottle 7. Wrecked 8. Forgiving 9. Fool for Love 10. Becoming Pt 2 Wow, that was one of the hardest lists to do ever. I think I have to do a top 20 when this season ends and actually look through each season at the episodes.
