The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Guys like Hamilton and Caleb over Adam is just insane. He would take shots from Spike and Buffy and just continue talking like it was nothing.

Hamilton had the Senior Partners flowing through him and Caleb had the first evil merged with him. Adam was strong and all, but everybody got put down by the protagonist before they got beat mystically. Hamilton beat up a god. Maybe Caleb.

Hamilton beat up a god.

A god? Hardly. He beat a severly weakened ancient demon.

If Illyria was at full-power she would've handed Hamilton his ass. Ditto for The Beast.

That's my measuring stick though. I have nothing to compare Adam with. Where's Adam handing an ancient demon its ass in a doggie bag.

Adam was tougher than Buffy. No selling for Buffy and Spike is a lot more impressive to me than beating weak Illyria. I don't mean "no selling" like most baddies either. Complete no selling. Like it was just nothing. Caleb was tough, but Buffy beat him. Same with Hamilton with Angel. Buffy could not beat Adam, which she knew and admitted. It took Uber Buffy to beat him. The only reason Adam isn't more impressive is that he just wasn't shown enough.

THE BEAST was the baddest of them all.

The ONLY way to kill him was with a weapon forged from his own bone.

Too bad he was a moron. Oh look, I'm going to keep the only thing that can kill me lying around while I fight a Slayer. Oh, and Angelus (who hates me) is also around. Poor Beast. I mean, there's your reason for putting Angelus higher than Beast, he killed the guy and all.

It's funny how Buffy was freaking out all year about how GIRLS WILL DIE~! about FE yet nobody has brought it up.......

I don't understand what Beasty was doing with that knife in the first place.

The original ubie was pretty tough. On the level of Hamilton or Caleb. He beat Buffy....

The Beast was just serving its master. The question is whether he kew that could defeat him since he's never really been defeated, only stopped in the past. It took the cunning Angellus to figure that out.

It took uber Angel to beat Hamilton, since he basically had to drink his blood to win. He had to take his power to get things down to even odds. Otherwise, Hamilton was taking very little, if any, punishment.

After he got biten it was over for Hamilton. Angel hit him like 5 times after that and it was done. I would not compare that to the spell Buffy did to beat Adam.

Angel needed the essence of the Senior Partners to win, and took their power from Hamilton. Without that, he was doomed. It wasn't just that he gained the power, he also took it away which made it far easier. If Buffy could have done the exact same thing with Adam, she would have defeated him in a breeze.

I fact, come to think of it, she did. When she took away his power source, he crumbled alot faster than Hamilton did.

But she couldn't. Which makes Adam stronger, he can't be beaten so easily. None of them would be as powerful if you could bite them to get their powers.

Plus Adam has that cool gun arm.

Yeah, he crumbled, because he basically had his heart torn out by mysitcally hyped up Buffy. Look at the stuff Buffy was doing. She was stopping bullets, turning grenades into doves, and forcing machinary to change. She was extremely souped up then. Adam losing to her is nothing to be ashamed of. Hamilton put up a good fight, but in the end, when Angel figured it all out, all he did was jump up and bite him.

It's a matter of knowing where the source of power was, like the Beast. If you know their weakness, it makes them infinately weaker. Uber Buffy tapped that in Adam, taking away his power source.

Besides, Hamilton would have punched a hole through Adam andpulled his power source out. Game. Set. Match.

They knew about the Uranium Core after Jonathan told Riley in Superstar. The problem with Adam was that Buffy was not strong enough to beat him. She admitted she couldn't wear him down and tear it out. She said herself she could not beat him alone.

There's no comparison between what they had to do to beat Adam and what Angel did to beat Hamilton.

It's like simplifying beating Glory just by saying "well, just kill Ben". Yeah that's what they did....but to get to that point it took all kinds of crazy stuff.

Adam could punch a hole through Hamilton's face.

Yeah but the list was about how badass/strong they were. He was a moron, but if the only way you could kill it was by a weapon forged from himself, that is pretty badass.

Yeah but Angel killed Hamilton with a punch to the face that snapped his neck. Plus, Angel just drank a little amount of his blood. He didn't suck the guy dry or anything.

Plus Adam has that cool gun arm.

The thing about Adam was that he was man-made, which gave him an advantage.

And that gun was cheating.

By the time he would have done that, Hamilton would have two holes in his chest. A fucking matching ensemble. And Hamilton would do it all in his suit while keeping his hair perfectly combed.

The gun is just awesome. I love the way he says "I've been upgrading".

His confidence is the best part of him. He knows he can beat Buffy. Not like Hamilton or Angelus kind of evil, over the top ego. He knows he can beat her. Like it's a fact. He understands and is aware of their power and knows he is stronger. The way he says "interesting. Very...interesting" when she is Uber Buffy is really cool.

Adam would block Hamilton's punches, snap his neck, pick up the body and toss it into space and back to Serenity. All while playing Oregon trail on his chest mounted floppy disc drive.

I am not trying to say that Adam wasn't a badass because he was sure as hell as one.

But THE BEAST was more powerful than Adam or Hamilton. He broke Connor's bones, which had never been done before. He beat Wes, Gunn, Angel, and Lorne in a fight in which they had weapons. All THE BEAST had was his rock solid fists.

Then he destroyed Faith no problem, a slayer, making her his little bitch. When Buffy fought Adam, all she had was that lil scratch on her head, while Faith was alllllllllllllll fucked up.

Beast is tougher than Hamilton and sure, maybe Adam.

Only reason I didn't put him higher was his weaksauce death.

Beast's voice makes him twice as cool as he already is!

BTW, that sun blocking statue thing he had to put together....a picture of that is on the temple Buffy enters to find the Guardian in End of Days.

There, the third thing we have in common. ;)

And his death was soooooooo dumb and as RRR would say "Just to put Angelus over."

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if Charisma never got pregnent, then season 4 would have been soooo much better than it already is/was. God, the possibilities....

Beast's fake death in the dream was cooler than his real death. The way he reaches for the dagger in his back is goofy.

Seeing Anya die again didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. However I was talking to a friend earlier and they gave me the horrible mental image of her body falling in two, which will probably give me nightmares.

somebody already mentioned it, but I could have SWORNE she was cut in half from the other side (her right, not her left.)

And I'd pick Hamiltoon over THE BEAST~ or Adam cause eh could kick ass and look good at the same time.

Nah, her getting cut was the same. I am sure, since it haunts me on a daily basis.

It's so fast, it's hard to register what's going on. It cuts away too fast to even think. It's sad how she can't say anything or see Xander one last time. Her last words are "bunnies!" and the last time she sees Xander it's just dragging Andrew away. Him calling out to her is almost as painful as her actual death. Thinking about how he will never see her again and how he wasn't there when she died and will never really know about it and see anything is awful. Now she is buried in a cave with ubie dust. Gone forever. Not even a grave. It's terrible.

Ok, I need to think happy thoughts.....

"So...the crux of your plan is..."

"Sexual intercourse. I've said it like a dozen times"

Good times....

I watched "You're Welcome" again today and I noticed a few things.

1) When Angel and Wes go to see Cordy in the hospital, there is a shot of a person in bed. My guess is that person is Cordy, still in the coma. However, the PTB used their powers so Cordy could give Angel one last message.

2) The fact that Angel and Wes were the ones to see Cordy is sweet because it goes back to the beginning of the series of just those three.

3) When Wes is doing the spell so Lindsey's tattoos come off, Fred looks at him in "that way." It is the first time, that I can remember, that she looked at him like that in a long time, if ever.

4) I loved the way Charisma played Cordy because it is a mix of the bitch Cordy and "champion" Cordy. If she were to have stayed for season 5, and played that way, she would have gotten on my good side again.

5) The episode isn't as good as I remember. Still good, but not GREAT like I orginally stated.

Cordy being dead is like the least important death ever for a major character. I barely think about it or care. I don't know why, but it just doesn't come off as that sad or a big deal. She was there from day 1 and a regular for 7 seasons of Buffy/Angel but I dunno, doesn't seem that bad. Fred being dead is worse.

maybe because people actually reacted to Fred's death. Cordy was either evil, or everybody was wrapped up in being hypnotized by Jasmine, or didn't react for whatever reason when she died died season 5. Fred dying got like almost two episodes before people started moving on (except Wes)
