The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2003 I'm collecting tidbits and such for my "hockeconomics" essay, and on the matter of teams in the 90s losing revenue and having to move due to their venue, I have a question. By 1992, the Target Center was built...why didn't they move from Bloomington to Minneapolis and take advantage of a new facility with more luxury boxes and seats? Was it a matter of not having the capital to rent out the building, or did the T-Wolves sign an exclusivity agreement, or what? Just a little red flag that went up as I was looking at some stuff on venues in the Twin Cities.
Guest gthureson Report post Posted September 21, 2003 Likely is what a matter of they would have gotten screwed on the deal, and being just a tenant, not gotten much of a cut of concessions, parking or the luxury add on prices of the luxury boxes. They just would have gotten straight ticket revenue. Which wouldn't have been better than their old deal. But...you'd have to ask a Minny person for sure.
