Guest Report post Posted April 4, 2002 According to Zach Arnold on http://www.puroresupower.com/ Joanie Laurer said at Inoki's dojo inauguration that she wants to continue her career in Japan, and that she wants to wrestle men. Hmmmm ... I wonder if she's actually ever *seen* Japanese wrestling. I have a feeling that after 5 minutes with one of the female wrestlers, every single plastic surgery scar would be leaking, and after 10 minutes she'd be a 32A again. Then again, if she's willing to learn, and give up thinking she's the centre of the known universe ...?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 4, 2002 I don't know about that shit. Actually the more that I think about it let her take some stiff fucking shots in Japan so she can learn to stay the fuck out of the ring.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted April 4, 2002 Proof that you can never say never in wrestling. Hey, on the plus side, she'll make a better IWGP Champion than Yusada.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted April 4, 2002 I certainly don't think that Laurer is any worse than Yasuda, Ogawa, Giant Singh, Jado, or several others that I could name.
Guest Stuart Report post Posted April 4, 2002 I certainly don't think that Laurer is any worse than Yasuda, Ogawa, Giant Singh, Jado, or several others that I could name. She's better than Singh, worse than Ogawa and Yasuda and not in the SAME LEAGUE as Jado. Why did you include Jado? He has looked good to very good in many of Jado and Gedo's New Japan matches. He got more out of Naruse than anyone has during the recent Jr. Tag Title match. Here's the deal, Jado and Gedo are not what they were several years ago, they are in good shape, they are working good matches weekly and they are hired by Liger as a result. She has the basics; she's just never had to use them. And she knows nothing about working.
Guest HellSpawn Report post Posted April 4, 2002 You got to be kidding. Are you sure that wasn't an April's fool joke?
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Hate to break it to you, but Zach has pictures of her mugging with Inoki and everything. Whatever, so much for her attempt at a movie career. And I was looking forward to seeing her in Terminator 3 *so* much. Oh well, looks like I'll have to settle for her Vs. Nakanishi instead.
Guest Risk Report post Posted April 5, 2002 She better not use the name Chyna...lol. Hell, maybe she could learn. I could see her fighting a Junior Heavyweight.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Her moveset consists of a forearm, a handspring elbow (crappy BTW), a press slam, and a punch to the balls. Not exactly Japan material if you ask me.

I've heard of decent intergender matches in smaller promotions but I'm sure they are few and far between. NJPW has no women's division. I wouldn't mind so much if I'd get to see Aja Kong punt her around the ring.
