Guest Catfish Jake Posted April 4, 2002 Report Posted April 4, 2002 i almost always go to Food Lion because its close to my house, but they really dont have that great of a selection. there is a huge kroger that i go to sometimes that has tons of gourmet and ethnic foods. so which grocery store do you think is best.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 i gotta go costco, sure its an everything store, but its more about substance than style!!!!!!!
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 6, 2002 Report Posted April 6, 2002 Ingles. i think theyre only in the carolinas but the place is great.
Guest Posted April 6, 2002 Report Posted April 6, 2002 stop & shop owns. actually it dosnt but its closest and pretty cheap.
Guest razazteca Posted April 6, 2002 Report Posted April 6, 2002 HEB Central Market, its a regional Texas grocery store that put Albertsons out of business in San Antinio!!!! It has the largest selection of beers from around the world and has a gourmet deli for every type of ethnic food available. The smaller HEB stores have a great bakery with local breads only availble at its store plus nice weekly deals at the butcher and meat sections.
Guest Posted April 7, 2002 Report Posted April 7, 2002 walmart kicks ass, they have everything, much bigger food section than costco also, and no monthly fee --Rob
Guest crandamaniac Posted April 11, 2002 Report Posted April 11, 2002 I would have said Wal-mart for the same reason that treble said loeb for, but the wally world i work at isn't a super center, so i won't. Therefore my choice would have to be Food Lion, being that they're the only grocery store in my whole county. Ingles. i think theyre only in the carolinas but the place is great. I don't know if i've seen an Ingles up here, must be different part of the carolinas then what i'm in
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 where in carolinas do you live cranda?
Guest crandamaniac Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 where in carolinas do you live cranda? I live between Statesville and Winston-Salem
Guest Nevermortal Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 Shaws. I haven't heard of half these supermarkets.
Guest treble charged Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 Loeb is only an Ontario chain of grocery stores (I think). Maybe just eastern Ontario, too.
Guest alfdogg Posted April 15, 2002 Report Posted April 15, 2002 Call me stupid, but I didn't know that there were any grocery store chains that were nationally recognized other than Kroger. At least not in Indiana. I didn't really think of Wal-Mart as a grocery store, but now that I think of it, they do have a lot of snack stuff there.
Guest alfdogg Posted April 15, 2002 Report Posted April 15, 2002 And Marsh, too, I forgot about them.
Guest alfdogg Posted April 15, 2002 Report Posted April 15, 2002 The only bad thing about my Kroger chain is that they don't carry Tato Skins chips. So instead of going to my nearest Kroger chain store (they're called Pay Less where I live) which is in walking range, actually, I have to take the ten-minute drive to Meijer.
Guest crandamaniac Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Call me stupid, but I didn't know that there were any grocery store chains that were nationally recognized other than Kroger. I didn't really think of Wal-Mart as a grocery store, but now that I think of it, they do have a lot of snack stuff there. i dunno about anywhere else, but down here we have wal-mart supercenters, which are basically wal-marts with a grocery store attached on them
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Asda (UK chain recently bought by Walmart) It's open 24 hours so I can shop at 4am when I finish work without getting hassled by young mothers or old folk.
Guest Choken One Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I'm a Midnight Shopper. Only Stoners, me and the rest of Disgruntled Husband are there and Only one register.
Guest Jericholic82 Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 I live in California. The best place here is Albertson's I think. Ralph's is too expensive at times. I also like Sam's Club cuz it has lots of everything
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 27, 2002 Report Posted April 27, 2002 Chalk up another vote in the Kroger column
Guest imajackoff? Posted April 29, 2002 Report Posted April 29, 2002 The Super Fresh near my casa kicks much BUTT. It's open 24/7 and it has self-service registers. There is something glorious about doing all your shopping and having no human contact.
Guest Choken One Posted April 29, 2002 Report Posted April 29, 2002 Anyone just go for the samples? Free lunch.
Guest Posted May 2, 2002 Report Posted May 2, 2002 Wegman's is the bomb because of the food court but it's high end so it's an expensive grocery store. I also like the Giant Food in Morrisville, PA... it's close to where I work but since it's in PA and not NJ I can get some good food (like rib patties) that they don't sell in NJ. When I did Disney College Program the Walmart in Kissimmee rocked the casa for everything. But my favorite is the A & P
