Guest JMA Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 This angle could be SO much better than it is currently. Dare I say it? It has... potential. Of course right now it's just a case of the heel trying to destroy Austin. I think it could (and should) be more than that. Think about it, Austin's main schtich was being a rebel who hated authority. Now he is the authority and Jericho is in the role of Austin. This feud would be better if Austin acted more like Vince used to. Have him actually become drunk with power and try to destroy Jericho by putting him in the ring with guys working for Austin. It would certainly revitalize Austin's stale character. And think of the promos. Austin: "Here you are, flapping your gums about how I'm 'unfair' and 'drunk with power.' You've even sided with a man who treated you like sh*t in WCW. Just like he treated me and many other people in this business. Ya make sick." Jericho: "Hold it right there, you sanctimonious son of a bitch. What about you? Years ago you hated authority and now look at you... you ARE that authority. You care more about your fat, little redneck friend than you do about Raw. You're nothing but a sell-out, Austin." Of course, I doubt Austin will be made to look that vulnerable... And yes, I'm aware that the Owner vs. Worker thing is VERY played out. But they're doing it anyways so they might as well do it right.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Where is this angle leading to?!! *rips his hair out in frustration
Downhome Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 It shouldn't be taking place period if Austin isn't ever going to be able to get into the ring, to job to Jericho.
Guest JMA Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Where is this angle leading to?!! *rips his hair out in frustration Do you mean the real angle or my proposed angle?
AndrewTS Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 No. Hell no. I've had too damn much of lame-ass rehashed of Austin-McMahon. Austin should be gone. Yeah, man was he ever right about how bad the writing is. So what does he do? He comes back to be part of the problem. Screw him. I'd rather watch Goldberg than more Austin bullshit.
Guest JMA Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 real I don't know. Austin could put over Jericho to fuck with Triple H or Jericho will just be embarassed constantly. That's my take.

And yes, I'm aware that the Owner vs. Worker thing is VERY played out. But they're doing it anyways so they might as well do it right. A few problems: 1) Whether we like it or not, Austin still OWNS the crowd. NOBODY --- yes, including RVD --- can touch him there. Your idea, while intriguing, almost turns Austin heel --- and the WWE can't do it. God knows they tried their butts off during the Invasion (and, you know, while the booking was crap --- the matches were, overall, darned good --- so I like the angle) and they couldn't kill off all of his face pops. It might not be worth the effort. 2) It doesn't really do much for Jericho. Since Austin is no longer an active wrestler, having him involved in programs with wrestlers is a bad idea and one the WWE should avoid. -=Mike

Damaramu Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Hmm.....are we talking a double turn here? Where at first the fans think Jericho is just being the heel that hates noble Austin and slowly they start seeing Jericho's side as Austin get's worse and worse?

Although, I'm not that big into the whole heel/face thing.
Guest Coffey Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 "sanctimonious son of a bitch" Worst catch phrase ever.
