cawthon777 Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I was in attendance for the Angle / Lesnar house show match in Roanoke several weeks ago that went 40-minutes + and had an article published in my college paper today detailing the contest and background of both individuals. It might give more of an insight to the bout for those interested: http://www.thetartan.com/vnews/display.v/A...0/3f79c1f4c939d The article was given a full-page treatment in the sports section and appeared opposite an editorial bashing ‘stupid sports’. Guess which ‘stupid sport’ got the most attention in the piece? Also, in the same edition of the Radford University Tartan there was an ad promoting a special appearance by ‘Mean Gene’ Okerlund. One of the local eateries on campus includes a Mene Gene’s Burgers and he will be on hand next Tuesday (10/7) from 3-5pm to sign autographs. I'm thinking I'll request him to mention his mother-in-law in whatever he signs for me. Radford, VA is located a half-hour south of Roanoke for those interested in attending.
Invictus Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Well written piece, I really enjoyed it. I liked your rundown on the competitors (to give a nice air of legitimacy) and how you kept the article from getting too technical in regards to the match. Is that article bashing "stupid sports" online as well?
cawthon777 Posted October 2, 2003 Author Report Posted October 2, 2003 It sure is. http://www.thetartan.com/vnews/display.v/A...0/3f79c2d6b209e The guy that wrote it is somewhat of an ass. I think the idea for his article was inspired by me sending him my WWE article last week (which, as the assistant editor of his section, he didn't publish).
Invictus Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Ah. I liked your article much, much better. Kudos, I think you have some tremendous writing skills.
Guest Fook Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Your recap was great. You have a real talent there. The other guy's article wasn't even close. It was full of bias and stereotypes.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 I would pay a large some of money to see the other guy read his article as cocky as he wrote it, to say uhh.........New Jack.
cawthon777 Posted October 2, 2003 Author Report Posted October 2, 2003 I would pay a large some of money to see the other guy read his article as cocky as he wrote it, to say uhh.........New Jack. As would I. As would I. Everything he writes comes off sounding cocky.
