Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted October 2, 2003 I would love some feedback on this. SMACKDOWN (10/2/03) Matt Hardy is shown in the back handing an envelope to the FBI. Nunzio says they won't let him down. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle are interviewed. They say they've been tag champs before, and tonight they will begin another reign. CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE Yoshihiro Tajiri pinned Spanky in 8:52 to retain the title in a competitive match. Bradshaw is interviewed. He says tonight is what he's always dreamed of. He gets a shot at the WWE championship. Ron Simmons will be in his corner to make sure Vince McMahon and his cronies don't try to get involved. US TITLE Eddy Guerrero pinned Nunzio in 8:59 to retain the title. Nunzio worked over Guerrero's shoulder the whole match, never letting up. Eddy somehow fought back and hit the frog splash for the win. After the match, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny the Bull doubleteamed Eddy until Chavo Guerrero came in with a chair to clear the ring. After the commercial, we see the trainer checking out Eddy's shoulder. He says that Eddy probably shouldn't wrestle in the tag title match later. Stephanie McMahon offers Chavo the chance to choose a healthy partner to sub for Eddy tonight. Neither Guerrero will have any of it. Eddy says he will wrestle again and retain another title. John Cena pinned Scotty 2 Hotty in 6:43. Big pop for Scotty. Back and forth match. The end comes when Scotty is going for the worm, but Cena pops up out of nowhere and hits the FU for the win. He gets on the mic and says that Kurt Angle is next. Matt Hardy pinned Rey Mysterio in 9:51. Hardy seemed to have a counter for every one of Mysterio's moves. He dominates the match for the most part, with Rey getting little offense. Rey gets a second wind and gets several near falls. Shannon Moore trips Mysterio from the outside. Hardy takes advantage of the distracted Mysterio and hits a sidewinder for the win. After the match, he continues to beat down Rey. He gets on the mic and tries to lure Eddy Guerrero out of the locker room to save his friend Rey. Eddy is shown in the back with his shoulder taped up and Chavo is holding him back from coming to the ring. He says Rey can handle himself and they have a match to concentrate on. WWE TITLE Brock Lesnar pinned Bradshaw in 5:51. Crowd was firmly behind Bradshaw. Vince tries to interfere but Simmons meets him with a lariat to put an end to that. Brock gets the clean win after ducking the Clothesline from Hell and hitting the F5. After the match, the lights go out for about 30 seconds. When they come back on, The Undertaker is standing over a prone Brock Lesnar with a chair in his hand. Lesnar's face is covered in blood. Undertaker smiles and walks out through the crowd. WWE TAG TEAM TITLES Los Guerreros beat Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle in 20:43 to retain the titles after Eddy pinned Angle. Los Guerreros had the advantage for the first few minutes, singling out Angle in their corner with some nice double teaming. Then, Angle made the tag to Benoit, who viciously attacked the injured shoulder of Eddy. Eddy plays face in peril for a while. Benoit finally locks him in the crippler Crossface. Eddy teases a tapout before Chavo saves him. Eddy finally makes the hot tag and Chavo cleans house. Benoit goes for a German suplex, but Chavo flips out and lands on his feet. He surprises Angle with an Angle slam. Benoit clotheslines Chavo out of the ring and they brawl on the outside. Chavo sends Benoit into the steel ring steps. In the ring, Angle goes for an Angle slam on Eddy, but Chavo interrupts it with a kick to the gut. He powerbombs Angle as Eddy climbs to the top rope, clutching at his shoulder. One frog splash later, and the Guerreros have retained the tag team titles. All four men hug and shake hands after the match to HUGE applause for their performances. Then, the FBI, Matt Hardy, and John Cena all hit the ring and beat down the tired faces. Rey Mysterio tries to make the save, but he is taken out as well.
