Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 When I was a little kid I was constanly renting wrestling tapes from every video store in town. I noticed after while that I started to get favorite tapes and I would rent those same ones over and over. I just wanted to see what were the tapes that you guys rented a lot when you were still a young mark. Mine were: Summerslam 88 Wrestlemania 3, 4, 5 Survivor Series 87 Royal Rumble 89 I still watch Wrestlemania's 3 & 4 at least twice a month.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I think I rented WrestleMania VIII at least 5 times. Otherwise I usually got something different each time. Now though I learned to dub, so I only rent stuff once.

Guest tpww7 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I live in CT, and lucky enough we had a ton of Coliseum videos back in the day. My favorites then were Survivor Series 1987-1990, Summerslam 88, all of the best of wwf vols and almost anything else that they had. I would rent tapes every 2-3 nights for about 5 years until they got rid of them. Damn them lol
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 My favorites were always WCW videos. Since my local video store was mostly WWF with a few WCW PPV's thrown in. They were.... The Great American Bash '90 Superbrawl '91 Halloween Havoc '91 I rented every WWF & WCW video at least once. I rarely rent videos now, since I prefer to buy them. Guest Your Olympic Hero1 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 Summerslam 90 - must have rented that at least 10 times
Guest y2jailbait Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I had an obsession with Royal Rumble 92. Bobby Hennan's commentary was classic for the entire pay per view. Ric Flair and Roddy Pipers performances were awesome as usual. Also, i got survivor series 91 all the time, i never wanted it, it just sorta ended up in my pile of tapes. Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 There was a small video store at the end of my block, so growing up, I'd usually rent at least one a week. They had just about all of the old school WWF tapes at one point and I managed to see them all eventually. My favorites were: Survivor Series 1989- I love this one because it was the first wrestling show I ever saw. I have seen it so many times that I can't possibly hate it. Wrestlemania IV- Another bad show that is one of my favs simply because I've seen it so many times. It was the first Wrestlemania I ever saw and I always enjoyed it and I still do to this day. Some of the others include: Wrestlemania V Wrestlemania VI Summerslam '
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 5, 2002 The early 90s Coliseum Videos were great. Stuff like Monday Night RAW - Prime Cuts, and all the various other ones, like Invasion '92 (with HBK vs. Flair). Those were always fun to rent, usually more for the cheesy angles than the matches (though there were some good ones scattered around, like the Steiners vs. Harts from WrestleFest, or the Clique tag match). Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I used to rent Mania 4,5 & 6 a lot, until I got 2 VCRs and dubbed them, I have since had to re-rent and dub 4 & 5 because the tapes wore out. I love Royal Rumbles too.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 5, 2002 The video store where I live had only 2 tapes. SummerSlam '89 and WrestleMania VI. I rented each of those once, I really saw no reason to watch them over and over again.
Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2002 I kept renting out WWF Wrestlemania VIII from two different video shops. I think I probably payed for them both the amount of times I rented them. However, my favourite wrestling video rental was WCW Superbrawl III. I only rented that once but I thought it was awesome. I still love the Benoit/Scorpio & Vader/Sting matches. Other wrestling videos I rented a couple of times include WWF Summerslam 1992 & WWF Wrestlemania IX.
Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2002 i remember renting the invasion video which areacode 212 mentioned a few times. it had this really dumb start trek theme to it, with sean mooney and lord alfred hayes presenting clips from on board the enterprise or something like that. the reason it was so cool was it had a ric flair profile on it with what looked like a house show match against shawn michaels when he was still in the rockers. i haven't seen that match for years, but when i was young i remember thinking it was the best match i had ever seen. Yeah that was a great match. It was actually taped for an episode of Prime Time Wrestling. There was also Flair vs. Bret Hart from sometime in early 1992. Pretty terrible tape other than the Flair profile.

Guest fouronthefloor77 Report post Posted April 8, 2002 When I was about 13 my friends and I found a video store with tons of old school wrestling tapes, they had lots of the old NWA shows like Bash 86 and a bunch of tapes called Monsters of the mat,it was hosted by Sgt. Slaughter It was mostly old Mid-South/UWF,there was also a three part video of AWA Superclash, lots of Coliseum but by that time I hated WWF and was firmly a NWA mark at this point (1989) At one point they were for sale and my friend bought Starrcade 86 and Bash 87 but before I could get enough money saved they closed.....hugh appalling bummer
Guest krambigmac Report post Posted April 9, 2002 Wrestlemania 4 - 2 tapes are better than 1 Survivor Series 89 - This was a fun show. Not alot of good wrestling but I loved it. Royal Rumbles 90-91 - 90 was better overall but 91 was awesome for Shane Douglas and the Bulldog's(yes those two) performances but I hated how Warrior lost to Slaughter. And my favorite rental ever.... . . . . . . . Starrcade 89 Future Shock - This is a supercard in every sense of the word. 4 guys, all near invincible all facing each other in the round robin. Steiners vs Road Warriors as part of the tag team iron man. The coolest entranceway ever. My only regret is that the copy I own is the 2 hour THE version. I want the PPV 3 hr version so badly. The card overall fell kind of flat but I will always love this PPV more than any other in history.
