King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 To be fair though, PPV buyout rates have been shitty since Backlash 2001. And the McMahon matches aren't helping either. So, which McMahon is to blame for RVD/Christian apparently losing viewers then?
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 Train/Steph did better than Ironman ratings-wise and HHH/Nash did better buyrate-wise than Vengeance. I also see you forgot to dispute the other two or did you leave those out on purpose? If you're gonna debate who's killing the ratings, blame Brock and then place some of the blame on Angle. Even though to my knowledge he never did that bad pre-Brock he's still part of the main event program.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 Every Wrestlemania except 13>>Angle/Brock According to the Wrestling Information Archive XIX did a better buyrate then WM XI and WM XII as well
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Train/Steph did better than Ironman ratings-wise That's because of the power outage that happened in the East. Its kinda hard to watch a show when that happens. HHH/Nash did better buyrate-wise than Vengeance That's because just about everybody tuned in to see Bad Blood and realized how much balls it sucked (and also how much money they wasted) and decided to skip out on Vengeance to prevent a possible reaccurance. I also see you forgot to dispute the other two or did you leave those out on purpose? Left out
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 I'm actually thinking as to why anyone would want to bring up the Train/Steph match again, it was gone from my memory untill now. DIIIIEEEE Nah, seriously, I can see the point of TheGame but what is so bad about watching Brock and Angle. Lets have A-Train v Big Show in the main event instead. SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 It's matches like Angle/Brock keeping the buyrates as "good" as they are in the first place.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Thanks Bob for the correction it should read 16 other WM's were better instead of 18 That's because of the power outage that happened in the East. Its kinda hard to watch a show when that happens. If you don't remember, Train/Steph was the same day as the east coast blackout. It is kinda hard to watch a show when that happens but people still watched. More than Brock/Angle Ironman. That's because just about everybody tuned in to see Bad Blood and realized how much balls it sucked (and also how much money they wasted) and decided to skip out on Vengeance to prevent a possible reaccurance. Even though it's a completely different set of wrestlers. Nah, seriously, I can see the point of TheGame but what is so bad about watching Brock and Angle. Lets have A-Train v Big Show in the main event instead. Well the bad thing about watching Brock/Angle is that for one, the matches are ok at best and two, they kill ratings and buyrates. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Well the bad thing about watching Brock/Angle is that for one, the matches are ok at best and two, they kill ratings and buyrates. So you're saying A-Train Vs. Big Show won't?
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 You can't say whether they will or won't. They're both heels and have been aligned lately and have never fought each other in the main event.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 I'm very sure a majority of fans wouldn't want to see Show / Train, especially on a PPV. Big Show has proven not to be a drawer and its bad enough Benoit has to be stuck with feuding with A-Train.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Well the bad thing about watching Brock/Angle is that for one, the matches are ok at best and two, they kill ratings and buyrates. So you would rather watch an A-Train v Stephanie match ?
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Actually WM and Summerslam buyrates since Backlash 2001 have been very good. It's the other shows that have suffered tremendously since WM17. Wrestlemania XIX drew one of the worst WM buyrates ever. SummerSlam this year drew its worst buyrate since 1996.

Big Show has proven not to be a drawer and its bad enough Benoit has to be stuck with feuding with A-Train. You're also sure the fans want to see Brock/Angle which has been disproved plenty of times. Big Show has proven that he doesn't draw? Neither do Brock and Angle but you're still denying that. Hell if Big Show gets blame, he was in the match with the two aforementioned people and you can't say it was all Big Show because people didn't watch them even when he wasn't involved. Why is it bad that Benoit is fighting Train other than that it's repetitive? Because they're having good matches? Oh yeah sorry, we should be having more Angle/Brock classics. So you would rather watch an A-Train v Stephanie match ? I did. I watched a tape of WM 19 up until the main event. I skipped Ironman and haven't even given second thought about not downloading any Brock/Angle matches. I did however tune into Smackdown to see Train/Stephanie. Looks like other people did too. Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Im not asking that, Im asking is that a match you'd rather watch ? And you didnt even WATCH the main event of WM ? How can you judge two wrestlers matches together if you havent seen their best match ?
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 I said I'd rather watch Train/Steph and did. To be fair I'm watching Brock/Angle now and if that's their best match....no comment. I saw a clip of the dump on the head which was enough to make me skip the match the first time. Glad I made a good call.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Big Show has proven not to be a drawer Oh yeah just to rub it in a little bit more since it's fun, Big Show averages a .2 better than Brock and has 2 less PPVs. If that proves Big Show doesn't draw, what does that say about Brock?
