What happens when

maybe this a bit unfocussed but anyway.

If Triple H is to face Hogan at Backlash(and for the sake of this post I'll assume so) then he must be turned heel. Because the WWF knows that anyone right now vs. Hogan is a heel and they wont send him in as a face only to have his face heat killed embarassingly in ppv main event.

But that leaves the WWF with a problem they dont have a top face. With Austin unwilling to work with the NWO , The Rock is Hogans little buddy and Hogans heat will be dead in about two months(Im hoping the WWF is aware of this and will not have him win the title at Backlash only to have it decay further when he becomes unpopular) and the rest of the former big stars(by former I mean last year) are doomed to midcard purgatory.

So as of the HHH turn which is inevitable in my opinion the company is left without a true top face.

Austin will of course end up feuding with HHH, but I dont think that it will truly capture anyones mind.

Fuck it maybe im wrong

If HHH has an issue with Undertaker on Raw and Hogan on SmackDown, maybe he'll be a face on one show and a heel on the other.

It might be confusing, but what isn't in the WWF right now?

HHH is smart enough to realize that he would be embarrassed by Hogan's heat at Backlash, so he'll probably pitch the idea for a heel turn to Steph and she'll go with it thinking that he thinks he's doing what's best for business (which it actually would be in this case) and still think he's the "Game".  Now if he's turns heel does that mean that he should job to the top babyface in the WWF at Backlash?

if that means giving the title to Hogan absaloutely not.

Hogans heat die out, and I dont think anyone will buy him as a realistic champion.

No one thought he'd out pop the Rock either....

Face or heel HHH will still be holding on to the title (unfortunately) for a while. A problem with him turning heel would be that maybe somebody would wake up when he comes out. Then he'll be super hot over and keep the title until Wrestlemania XX.

I bet Stephanie returns at the ppv and helps HHH keep the title if he turns heel. You know Stephanie won't be able to resist the urge to get back on tv.

you cant honestly think that the nostalgia trip lasts forever. This was simply to spike the ratings a little bit as they dropped consistently. The hogan thing will drop slowly, and theres a difference between sustaining the tremendous heat for one match and for two months.

"Now if he's turns heel does that mean that he should job to the top babyface in the WWF at Backlash?"

I meant it as a rhetorical question.  And as a satire on HHH's refusal to job to almost anyone cleanly.  BTW did you guys notice that he was almost laughing at how silly Hogan looked om SD!?

Hogan is the #1 face right now and no the nostalgia trip won't last forever, but I think him getting the strap off HHH and jobbing it to Angle or RVD or Rock or Jericho would give them a HUGE rub, Rock doesn't need it really but the other 3 could use a credibilty boost and beating Hogan clean for the World title would definatley provide it.

Their big three major players, Hogan notwithstanding, are faces right now.  If Triple H were to turn heel, he'd have the Hogan issue to deal with for another month or so.  After that, he could easily feud with either Rock or Austin.  It's not like those guys aren't over or anything.  It's a simple matter of taking them out of the midcard and inserting them into the uppercard, which is where they belong anyway.  The Rock, being Hogan's lackey, would probably want to avenge Hogan's almost certain defeat at the hands of The Game-uh.  This stuff practically books itself.

i would love trips again if he turned heel the week before backlash, then completely buried hogan at the match.  he'd be my hero if he just no-sold hogan's shitty offense and annihilated him.  he could win with 3 pedigrees in a row & pinning him with one finger.

of course, none of this will ever happen, but it would be nice.

the booking of this match really makes me wonder.  i find it hard to believe that hogan is going to do the j-o-b on two straight ppv's.  on the other hand i don't see hhh losing the title anytime soon so this could be a very interesting matchup.

I agree but I think the NWO will be involved as well. Stephanie will be back in no time flat. She has never been able to keep herself off tv for longer than a month since she became a "big star."

Hogan's nostaliga pop will die eventually(hopefully real soon) but the fans hatred for Stephanie will stay strong anytime she books herself tv time. The surest way to solidify Triple H as a heel is to pair him up with the NWO again and put Stephanie back on his arm.

The only problem with Triple H turning heel and becoming the NWO leader is that Hogan will be on Smackdown and be unable to get his revenge. And Kane & Bradshaw just are not going to cut it as rivals to the NWO. Austin apparently wants nothing to do with the NWO and it sounds like a match between him and Triple H would be a political nightmare at this point.

So the best option would be to have the first big trade - Austin for Hogan. Hogan gets to feud with Triple H and the NWO. When that gets old, he can then move on to Taker/Big Show/Kane/etc. Hogan is completely out of place on Smackdown where the top heels are Angle and Jericho.

Austin meanwhile fits in much better on Smackdown where he can work with Rock/Jericho/Angle/Benoit and I'm sure continue his never-ending feud with Vince.

I can see them doing the match as face vs face to help HHH get over.

Book plenty of spots where both can cheat to win. ref bumps HHH picks up a chair but doesn't use it etc. The NWO come down and beat on Hogan HHH watches for long enough for the crowd to think he's turned and then clears the ring. No contest Nitro ending noone's done the Job and HHH hopefully has more face heat. Basically I see it as Hart vs Piper but no way is Hogan going down for a three count.

If not they'll turn him on Raw.
