Now...logic gaps tend to take place in the wwf....

I think Hogan does have a claim to the title since in WCW he beat Jeff Jarrett for the title and never lost it. I mean Half that belt still actually belongs to Hogan since it's a mix of the WWF and WCW world titles.

You could make that claim for Benoit, too, since he was never beaten for the WCW belt before he left for the WWF.

I think the Fed is actively downplaying WCW's involvement in every aspect of their product, right down to the one Title belt. Plus, i think Hogan wants to be remembered for his successful WWF roots rather than his ill-fated WCW stint.

Vince must think that fans are stupid if he wants Hogan to win the World Title.  With Hogan back with the red & yellow, I think the WWF is trying to bring back the cartoon aspect of wrestling.  They don't realize that fans are not that stupid, despite what some may believe....

I think that it's to cash in on Hogan. They must know that his time is short.

Guest What?!

Well, they could always say Hogan has been dominating the House Show circuit. No one really checks on those, so why not.

That's pretty much the best I could come up with in logic that Hogan gets a title shot. Or the old "He's a legend and doesn't have to do anything to warrant one" card which can get Flair and Vince title shots too I guess.

I would rather see Angle or Jericho in the main event of Backlash rather than Hogan.

You can't deny that Hogan is insanely over with the marks.  As we all know marks make up 90% of the WWF's audience.  Most of these marks never experinced Hulkamania in the WWF, so this is thie chance.  I don't know how long this will last, but everyone keeps talking about nostaglia.  For the 13 year old marks this is new, it's not a nostaglia run.

Most of the WWF's audience is over 18 at least, so most of them have experienced Hulkamania before.  I have, and I never wanted to see it again.

Honestly...I think they'll give Hogan the belt at Backlash. I mean, I think that Vince will try to go all the way with promoting 'Hulkamania 2002' to the point of giving him the strap one last time. A triple threat match is the best way to do that too, because he doesn't even need to pin HHH in order to win the title (and he can get that clean pinfall win back from Taker too). Of course, I'd have him drop it on RAW the next night, but I think that even one more night of 'Real American' blaring and Hogan posing with the WWF Title as thousands of marks stand and cheer-and Hulkamania T-shirts sell out again- is too much for Vince to resist.

Speaking of logic, why does there have to be any reason to make Hogan the #1 contender?  The WWF only uses this "#1 contender" BS when they need an excuse for a #1 contender's match.  The Undertaker was never the #1 contender, they just threw him in the match.  Why do we care about the reasons behind Hogan being the #1 contender?  This is the WWF we are talking about, they don't need a reason to put Hogan in the main event of their next PPV.

Do they even acknowledge house shows on television?

Only if an injury takes places or an unexpected title change happens.

Technically, you could make the case that Triple H has been undisputed champion since way back when he pinned Benoit on first arrival if you're going to make the case for Benoit.

After Triple H beat Beniot, and then beat Tazz in a match between WWF & ECW champions, I considered HHH the undisputed champ and I played a little game, no pun intended.  Any time the undisputed champ jobbed, whether it was in a tag match, one on one, non title....the other guy in my eyes was the undisputed champ.  At one point...Kane was the undisputed champ.

I stopped playing after the InVasion, cuz I just got f'n lost.

Well, Bret Hart never really lost the wcw title either. He also never really lost the wwf title due to Vince as well. So, there goes that theory. Hogan actually had the belt that was used before the "new one" given to Booker T. Yeah, the wwf seems to really downplaying wcw at all costs. The one time they stick to a stipulation. Funny isn't it? You know this Hulkamania stuff might actually be new to some people. If you figure in how wrestling exploded in 1996-1999 the newer fans never really saw Hogan as a face. He turned face in wcw in its dying days when no one was really watching. Yep, Taker doesn't deserve a shot as much as Hogan. He beat a 50 year plus "co-owner" for crying out loud. I don't think Hogan will get the belt though. This is Triple H the booker we are talking about here.

I don't think he should anyways. He should job to almost everyone, up and down the line. At least Triple H, Austin, Rock, and Undertaker; with Benoit, Jericho, Angle, and RVD next in line. It's pointless trying to milk the thing beause it's only working as a nostalgia high for the older fans and not really doing much to draw and bring in newer fans. Because Joe Shmoe who hasn't watched wrestling consistently in ten years isn't going to turn on the TV, see Hogan in red and yellow, and start eating his vitamins again. He's going to think why is this guys still here, and hence it's not going to have a strong carry-over like a new push or a strong heel, or a fresh and enticing angle.

I want to see that, too.  What I REALLY want to see is Jericho built up, and then taking the Undisputed Title.

But, it's not like that's going to happen soon.  -_-
