Guest The Bad Guy Posted April 6, 2002 Report Posted April 6, 2002 I'm new to the whole idea of tape trading/selling, though I have been collecting masters [WWF/WCW/ECW not RFVideo/HighSpots] for some time now. If I was to copy the tapes in high quality, how exactly would I go about doing it? I've copied tapes in the past, but in most cases they lose a considerable amount of quality along the way, something which I have no doubt would frustrate the viewers. So what exactly do you guys use to create high quality duplication for your purposes?

The best thing is to use 2 high quality VCR's, high quality dubbing cables, and name brand tapes. Some people use the Sima copymaster, which stabilizes the video, keeps the color pretty consistent, and can defeat Macro copy protection.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted April 6, 2002 Report Posted April 6, 2002 Yeah, pretty much anytime you copy videos some of the color and sound is drained out of it. Personally, I have one great and one not so great VCR. I play the tape in the not so great VCR and record it in the good one. I don't know if that makes sense, but that is my method. The video quality is pretty good when I do this, but I lose a lot of the sound, so I just make my TV louder
