The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2003 During the summertime, between the Stanley Cup and the All-Star Game, and then between that and the NFL preseason, there's a dearth of programming on both ESPNs, especially the Deuce. Basically, we get stuck with hours and hours of repeats of Sportscenter and Baseball Tonight ad nauseam. I'd like to find a way to contact Disney/ABC/ESPN in order to make them aware of pursuing drum and bugle corps as a programming option during those lean summer months. For those of you not familiar with the activity, I will for the sake of short-term brevity here suggest you look it up on Google or ww.dci.org for information. Basically it's a great fusion of athleticism and music which could get over huge if marketed to some, any extent. All I'd be asking for are weekly recap shows for eight to nine weeks, plus coverage of the divisional championships, and the world finals. I'd like you guys to tell me what you think of drum corps, and advice you can give me on writing a letter to the powers that be. I don't expect it to end up on Michael Eisner's desk, but I'd like to hope somebody in Bristol gets a hold of it and if all goes well, others that follow suit, which can lead to national exposure of drum and bugle corps, something that the program rightfully deserves.
