Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2002 Have you guys thought of this yet? Let's say some of the WWF Superstars themselves were on Tough Enough, and they had to pass the "test" to get to stay in the WWF. Do you think that every single WWF star would pass it and be able to continue? Who do you think would do the best, and the worst if they were actually put on the show? Or even more interesting... ...who do you think would potentially fail?

Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2002 fail? i wont say big show, nash, and anyone else whos just in because theyre big I dunno, when The Big Show was the special guest on Tough Enough he was actually shown going through all of the drills on the mat and the such. I think that guy would actually suprise a lot of us at what he could do on there... ...Nash however, that is another story, lol.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted April 6, 2002 I think a lot of the wrestlers we think would fail ie. most of the big men, probably end up keeping their jobs due to their size. I could see every other WWF wrestler making it.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2002 didnt the wwf sighn that big guy with the leg problems to a developmental deal? Yep, they sure did. I started a thread on that earlier, so check it out if ya want.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 6, 2002 I think a lot of them would have trouble with that Optimum Fitness deal. That looks incredibly difficult. I can't imagine Bossman or some of the chubbier guys getting through all of that.

Guest Report post Posted April 6, 2002 Well, as far as the TE2 cast goes, I don't think Jake is going to have any problems with the Optimum Fitness. He was a fireman and for those of you who don't know, the physical test firemen have to go through is one of the most brutal and physically demanding activities in the world. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 6, 2002 You know, Meltzer covered this on Wrestling Observer Live last Sunday--it was pretty interesting because he sounded a little pissed about it. I'm not following TE2 (I don't have MTV), but apparently they cut the guy who was both in better shape and picking up the "wrestling" part quicker than everyone else, because he failed the interview part or something. Is this true? Meltzer went on to rant a bit about how someone like Benoit wouldn't be able to do well on Tough Enough 2 because, despite his wrestling skills, his personality/interview skills aren't exactly what MTV is looking for. Guest Report post Posted April 6, 2002 Yes, it was true. The kid name was Danny. He was like 5'10 and maybe 170lbs. He out beat everyone when it came to the physical Challenges and he looked like he was taking all the bumps better. Even the Trainers said he picks up things better then everyone else but they still cut him because he was "average" looking, didn't have a good Character thought up already and didn't cut a great promo. The kid was pound for pound the best Athlete there. Only thing I know, It's pretty sad when you get cut by Al Snow, Bob Holly and Ivory when they say your character sucks. Like Mr. Race Car, Lief Cassidy and anything Ivory ever did, should talk. Only reason I'm not bashing Chavo here is because he came off like he was trying to stick up for Danny. Guest Report post Posted April 6, 2002 Maybe somebody who has watched this season more closely can answer this for me... But does it seem to you like Bob Holly isn't there so much to teach the kids as he is to "teach some marks a lesson" ? I mean, the first season, it seemed to me like Tazz was "bad cop" to Al Snow's "good cop" but he was still teaching the kids. Holly just seems like he's out to piss on them. Kinda like Triple H's ego-stroking self-serving guest appearance in the first season where he lectured the kids. (Remember that thing? Boy, after that talk I think Karma decided he deserved to fuck up his knee...) Is this just what it looks like on the surface? Or does it seem to you the regular viewers like this really is the case? Guest Some Guy Report post Posted April 6, 2002 I think Godfather, Bossman, Nash, Show, Rikishi, Hogan and Austin would fail among others. Could you see any of them being able to run 3 miles? With the fatness, lazyness, and bad knees that afflict most of those guys.
Guest Ignatz Belzner Report post Posted April 6, 2002 To be totally honest, I do watch that show when the new episodes come out, and it's interesting the way they present things. I agree with the decision to cut Danny, mainly because he had zero charisma. Even the guys who can't talk, for the most part, have charisma. Benoit is horrendous on the mic, but he looks like such an evil bastard that it's believeable. Look at Brock Lesnar. I've never heard the guy on a mic, but I alreayd consider him to be awe-inspiring, because he looks like (and they're selling him as) a monster. Danny just looked, well, like a totally average guy, and the way he'd flick his eyes around and fidget about the ring when he was doing the little interview part...it's like he was scared of it or something. Of course, now they can bring him back to attack the Tough Enough champs because "it shoulda been him."
Guest Report post Posted April 6, 2002 I didnt think Danny was even that bad on the mic the "Danimal" thing was kinda funny in a pathetic way. all of his "Fanimals" know it too. wooh. im in OVW. I get to job too Benoit soon.
Guest Report post Posted April 7, 2002 Look at Brock Lesnar. I've never heard the guy on a mic, but I alreayd consider him to be awe-inspiring, because he looks like (and they're selling him as) a monster. In a year's time, his character will be a way watered down version of what it is now. At least... that's what I think.

Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted April 7, 2002 that's a shame. This guy might still get a shot tho, if he comes up through the indy feds. Bradshaw would of course pass straight away on the interview aspect, but he's sure as hell not the fittest guy in the wwf.
Guest Report post Posted April 7, 2002 In a year's time, his character will be a way watered down version of what it is now. At least... that's what I think. Yep, just look at Kane, Kane was a monster that went around destroying people, there was no escape. Now he's the winner of the Weakest Link....

Benoit has better mic skills than Danny and he was already proven to work a good match. Danny was just taking bumps good and that doesn't mean he's going to be as good as Chris F'n BeNoIt. Maybe somebody who has watched this season more closely can answer this for me... But does it seem to you like Bob Holly isn't there so much to teach the kids as he is to "teach some marks a lesson" ? It looks like that to me too. He seems to like Hawk sometimes and once in awhile he seems friendly but overall he is a jackass to the kids. Danny just looked, well, like a totally average guy, and the way he'd flick his eyes around and fidget about the ring when he was doing the little interview part...it's like he was scared of it or something. His face turned all red too. And remember the worst thing he's ever done in his life? He made some kid cry in grade 4 by saying he didn't want to work with him on a project. Danny = boring homo I didnt think Danny was even that bad on the mic the "Danimal" thing was kinda funny in a pathetic way. all of his "Fanimals" know it too. That was a really bad character. I felt bad for him because he looked so stupid cutting his promos. that's a shame. This guy might still get a shot tho, if he comes up through the indy feds. Guest Report post Posted April 26, 2002 Just bumping because I wanted a Tough Enoguh thread up. How can anyone say the people are not as interesting as the ones on season one? The guys on season one were boring if you ask me. These people aren't great but they are a step-up.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 26, 2002 Danny was said to be Vanilla by the trainers, but I see no reason why they could not just give Danny a mask or kool gimmick like Shinobi or Aldo Montoya Portuguese Man-A-War
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 26, 2002 One thing's is always a guaranteed laugh though. Whenever "Big" talks to them about their fitness. I want someone to say "Come on Big you need to go more then us, you look like you're about to have a heart attack". I bet if someone slit Big's wrist cheese doodles would come out. I think the person who would have the most trouble doing the stuff (irony) is the current champ. I'm surprised Hogan can still do a legdrop (only with the one leg though) I can't imagine him trying to scale some wall on the beach. Rikishi, Bossman, Nash, Big Show, Mark Henry and guys of that type are people I think would have trouble as well. Also, Dean Malenko should be a trainer if they do a TE3. He was a fireman and for those of you who don't know, the physical test firemen have to go through is one of the most brutal and physically demanding activities in the world. Really? What do they do? Not sure exactly. My friend was telling me about it. Most of it involves moving a lot with a lot of weight on you. They keep ambulances nearby because it's very common for guys to pass out. My friend said some guy who was probably the most fit there even passed out.
Guest Sadyv Report post Posted April 27, 2002 Yeah, to be a fire man they have to know you can keep going, carrying your tank, carrying people, and all under very hot, stressful conditions. I agree with Danny being cut, but athletically the guy was far and away above the rest of the cast. Bob Holly looks like a punk, but remember this is TV, they can edit and tell Bob to play up that aspect.
Guest Risk Report post Posted April 27, 2002 It was Matthew, not Danny, who got the developmental contract. We all know Jim Ross has his erotic big man fetish. Reminds me of Buffybeast.
