Guest Caliban Report post Posted April 6, 2002 Am I to understand that both Backlash and Insurrection will both be shown on Sky Box Office? Aren't these shows just two weeks apart? I have only bought 4 events on SBO. One Night Only, Capital Carnage, Insurrection 2000 and Royal Rumble. Now One Night Only was well worth the money, also it meant more to me to see that event on TV because I was there live. Capital Carnage, Insurrection, and in fact every other "UK exclusive" PPV has been a complete waste of time and money. Royal Rumble was worth the money, being a established PPV. I will also be ordering Backlash. But SKY must be taking the piss if they expect us to buy Insurrection, likely to be a throwaway show, two weeks after Backlash. If it is a success then we're doomed. Sky and the WWF will jump all over the fact that two PPV's were successful a fortnight apart. If it is not a success, then it could be the end of the UK PPVs if Backlash is ordered a lot more than Insurrection, and I think that's the way it's going to go down. What do you think about this situation?
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted April 6, 2002 I can understand why Sky have done it. They were fucked over by the WWF because they wanted terristial TV coverage and then Channel 4 just buried it. With the premiership Sky aren't going to lose too many customers if they shunt the PPV's to PPV. If Insurrextion tanks then they'll just stop running UK only ones. They are building it up though they showed the Benoit Angle two out of three falls on Smackdown.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted April 6, 2002 I thought they were showing Judgement Day 2001 until I noticed the set was different... just goes to show how meaningless the UK PPVs are. Honestly I hope the marks aren't dumb enough to buy both those shows.
