Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 24, 2002 I was playing UFC Fighting today for my X-Box. I was Frank Shamrock up against Tito Ortiz, and this was a hard match. Neither one of us gave up hits we countered a lot and it went to five rounds before Tito forced me to tap out in some weird reverse face lock submission in the 5th and final round. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted September 14, 2002 I dusted of No Mercy and ended up winning a handicap match against Road Dogg and X-Pac with a fluke win. They were kicking my ass and getting reversals galore, but they got greedy. They set me up for a Doomsday Device, but Road Dogg couldn't reach me with the clothesline, and I rolled up X-Pac for the win.

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted September 15, 2002 I got Madden 2003 a couple weeks ago and used the Jaguars against the Houston Texans, mainly cause the Jags now suck on the game as compared to the last few years. I figure no problem, it's an expansion team. I eat my words. I go three and out on my first series. Taylor then gets hurt on the second series after just three carries (at this point I thinkt he game is too true to life...). I can't quite get my aerial attack going, as Jimmy Smith is doing all right, but when I throw to recievers not named Jimmy Smith they can't make the catch. David Carr is having a good game but my defense manages to keep him in check. Score at the half, Jacksonville 0, Houston 0. I'm thinking this could be my lowest scoring game of all time (the lowest was on Madden 97 - I beat a team 7-6). Second half comes, I get the ball and the offense starts clicking. Brunell to Smith, end zone, TD, XP, Jacksonville 7, Houston 0. Unfortunately I still wasn't used to the kickoff coverage, as Jermaine Lewis blows right through for a 100 yard touchdown. Jags 7, Texans 7. I'm finally able to get the running game going and I go ball-control, eating up time and yardage. Fourth quarter, Stacey Mack punches it in from the 3, Jags 14, Texans 7. Suddenly I can't stop David Carr. Houston drives down the field and puts it in the end zone to tie the score. Jags 14, Texans 14. Two minute drill time. First and 10, from my own 27. I call Shotgun, WR Drag. The primary reciever is the circle reciever running a drag route, but I always go for the square reciever who runs a 10-yard hook. I throw to Pat Johnson. A Texans player hits him just as he makes the catch, btu he breaks free, turns upfield...And NO ONE is there, as I score on a 73-yard touchdown. Jags 21, Texans 14. Still 1:37 on the clock. Their drive stalls at midfield, as I stop them on fourth down to win my first game on Madden 2003. On another Madden game - I think it was 96 - I was down 21-7 midway through the second quarter and came back to win the game. Can't remember any more details. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted September 18, 2002 Oh, I just had a doozy of a Super Bowl on Madden. It was the Patriots (me) vs. the 49ers in the 3rd year of my franchise (10 minute quarters). SF was kicking my ass all throughout the first half, Garcia connecting on a couple of bombs to Kerwin Rice, a second year guy, for TDs and their secondary was covering me like a blanket. I managed to hold them to a 21-7 lead at the half. I got a couple of FG, including one on a 16 play drive from my own 2 making it 21-16 at the end of the 3rd. In the fourth, everything clicked for me, I held the SF offense at bay and went ahead 22-21 after Smith walked it in from the 3, but I missed the conversion with 45 seconds left in regulation. I manage to get them deep in their own territory on the kickoff and feel pretty confident I can hold them. It's 3rd and 6 on their own 23 with 17 seconds left and I prepare to be drenched with Gatorade....... Garcia hits Rice AGAIN for 77 yards and the winning TD, his 3rd of the game, leaving me 5 seconds (after the kickoff), where a desperation bomb falls incomplete and I lose. Rice is MVP with 243 yards recieving and 3 TDs. That guy is a FAST motherfucker too.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted September 18, 2002 How strange this thread came up right after this game I played... Game: Madden '03. Teams: Me (San Antonio Outlaws vs Cowboys) Mode: Franchise (second year), All Pro, 15-minute quarters Situation: Week 11 -- I'm up in my division by one game (8-3 record) Dallas needs this contest to stay afloat with their 5-5 record; guess their bye week didn't show up yet) Since this is franchise, here's a few marquee matchups... Dallas' offense (Terrell Davis, Randy Moss, Plaxico Burres) vs. My secondary (Champ Bailey, Brian Dawkins, Adam Archuletta, Antoine Winfeld) Dallas' D (three 80ish LBs and two 90ish safetys) vs. My O-line (My best guard is out with a boo-boo and my rookie hoss is in -- has 90 strenght, 99 run bloking, but only 68 in pass blocking) The first quarter sees the Cowboys with a quick 14-3 lead thanks to a kick off return (I use my defensive back up in coverage to give them some tackles)... Thanks to a TD pass and 3 field goals (one being a 59-yarder at the end of the half) I trail by 1 at the end of two... As the thrid quarter goes on I get a 2-point lead thanks to another FG. Then Dallas starts throwing all over the place. My D-line takes care of that by taking out Quincy Carter for the game, and the next 10 weeks after that! But alas, Dallas' backup comes in and picks up where Carter left off. Long story short, it's 2:30 left and I'm down by 4. My normally accurate QB is 13 for 31 and my runners haven't been gaining large chunks of yardage due to the quick run support Dallas has... After completing a thrid and long pass to my rookie receiver I move the ball down and throw a strike to Wayne Chrebet with 20 seconds left. Their backup can't cope with my cover 2 D, and I win the game! I literally jumped in the air and pumped my fist when Chrebet made the game-winning catch. I swear this game can drain you emotionally sometimes... Of course, I simmed next week's game and now my other guard, whose my highest rated lineman,is out for a month. Time for my rookie hoss to earn his paycheck once again...
