Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 For a show in which CC reports that every match was won by no-show, I was personally quite entertained. Congrats to Johnny on a well-written title defense. Va'aiga continues to steamroll the competition. I mark everytime he comes up with a different way to describe the LAAAARIIIIOOOOOTOOOOH~! J&R continue to kick ass, but then, everyone already knew that. We'll get 'em next time, X!
Rawknight 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 ...I won? Strewth. /me will read the rest of the card later
HVilleThugg 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 OK....uhhhh... Well, it looks like either Taylor or Strangler (probably Strangler) threw together something for our match at the last second. For that, I thank you. I was sure that Taylor was going to write, but I wasn't able to check with him...but I did tell both Strangler and Raynor (my marker). Basically, the only day I was able to write was Sunday. However, something came up and I had to work all from 1pm to 11pm on Sunday at the office because of a goddamned client who wanted to be a dick. Therefore, I had absolutely zero time to write. Since, at the time, I didn't know how long I'd have to be at work, I didn't tell Raynor and Strangler I was no showing until Monday. I did the best I could to let them know, and I appreciate whoever it was throwing that together. I am, however, a bit pissed off about the Storm card, but I'll comment on that over on that thread. Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Ok well, I'd like some comments on my match if anyone would be so kind. Since I won on a no show I have no idea if it sucked ass or not, or if it would have even won to begin with. Thanks! On to the show: Va'aiga Vs. Quiz For what it was, which was a rather short match, I thought it was still pretty good. I'm not sure what the history between Va'aiga and Quiz is so maybe thats why the sudden attack on Quiz at the beginning seemed a little odd to me. I know their was the Tag Title deal, but that was a while back. I understand where your trying to go with the Maori Badass, but I think a sudden attack like that should be reserved for a heated feud. I'd like to see him dominating, and knowing he can dominate without the sneak attack. Like just whooping your ass, and you KNOW he's coming yet their is nothing you can do about it. Riley: Grand Slam Mark Stevens booked this match as a way of… umm.. actually I’m not sure why Grand Slam made this match. Possibly because he couldn’t book Va’aiga in a punishment match against himself. Grand Slam booked the match for a Number 1 contendership to the U.S. title. Which you don't even mention until the very end. other than that I like it! (Y) Skipping Bastion Vs Erek for obvious reasons... Micheal Craven v. Xero & Jay Dawg For a match that you know the opponents are going to no show, you sure didn't take it easy. Which is good, because it is still quality entertainment, and you prove once again that you can deliver with whatever your handed with. However, I am wondering about this... Funyon: The following Genesis IV Tournament match is scheduled for one-fall! Introducing first, from Tampa, Florida, weighing in at 280 pounds... ladies and gentlemen, The King Of Nightmares... MICHAEL CRAVENNNNN!!! How much of this match was a copy/paste of aprevious match? I mean was it that hard to re-write the Funyon intro so it wasn't so obvious. I admit, when i need some extra words, I'll dig up a previous match and re work it to fit, but don't make it so obvious... geeze. Riley: This man is a true hero. He faces certain doom, yet he still comes out to fight it! What a man! Comet: But he still won’t give you a blowjob, homoerotic hailer of heroes! Riley: I wish you didn’t have the mind of a kindergartener, Comet... Ugh... Now, I think the way to pull off the gay jokes are to make them subtle. Have Comet make a remark that YOU (and the reader) know what he's talking about, yet Bobby is oblivious to the fact. I suck at jokes so I usually stay clear of them. Thats all for me on this one... Good Job though! Xstacy & WildChild v. Justice & Rule Well... this was certianly a very cool match with a very cool post match bit. I'm not really sure what I can point out to go on and on and on about. This was really a fun little match. I like Wildchild using some mat techniques in it with the Jackknife pin. The hot tag to X was also well done, but X didn't last very long as the winning pin came just a few paragraphs down. I can'y really imagine Justice and Rule doing the Dudley table bit, but all is cool. God Damn, I never realized how much speed Johnny had. He raced down from Backstage as Ejiro got to the top rope, and made it into the ring before he could jump? I guess, I'll buy it. Not like I have a choice in the matter. I must thank you guys for putting Johnny over as well as you did in the post match beat down segment. I liked it a lot and I think it moved the story where it needs to be. Excellent match! That's all for me.

Guest Goodear Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Robble Robble.... who'se your buddy Johnny? Reading this match oncew again proves that if this was The Smart Marks Boxing Federation that Johnny D would be heavyweight champeen. No one does the pugelistics like my boy Johnny as he puts as much impact into the strikes of a match as anything else which is good to a certain extent as long as he doesn't make them as devastating sounding as a top rope German which is something he needs to look out for The pace of the match was fun in a WWE Kurt Angle type of way which is fine and dandy although not really what one would call psychologically sound. But with word counts on the downturn, I think a lot of us are going to have to adapt to this sort of deal a bit more than Johnny will have to in the other direction. I could have used a bit more build up to the Shooting Star Press and would think that would work out better as a shocking move that gets Johnny a win before you miss it. Unless I'm missing a match somewhere... I've been having trouble reading lately due to headaches. Other than that I would have liked to see you give CIA more of a run at the end after escaping the half crab to build up the DRAHmeh. Your main weakness seems to be construction where there doesn't seem to be a bridge between the jockeying for position and the big time power moves. Personally I like to see a period of like gutwrench suplexes moves in there, but once again with the word countsd being what they are, that probably won't be an option. So be it.
