Charles Woodson slams Callahan

I think that we have a coach with a very big ego," Woodson told Kremer. "You know what I mean and he's not listening to the veterans and that's what's sad about it. You know when you get to a point in life when you can't listen to guys with experience like we have on our offense then I think that's something very wrong. That's the problem."

This team gave up on Callahan and Gannon a long time ago. No one can stand either one of these guys. I gaurentee the Raiders will win huge with Tuiasosopo and Gannon will sit for the rest of the year...and rightfully so. He's played terrible this year, and has come backt o playing like the normal Rich Gannon who was around from 90-2001...until he magically started kicking ass.

Callahan? He isn't a disciplinarian and is aloof to how to run a team. He rode Gruden's hardwork last year, but now when it comes to actually changing the teams gameplan, he has choked. The Raiders do have a good team, and once they great rid of these two cancers, they'll be back on the road to respectibility.

The Raiders are OLD.

Them not being dominant was seen coming.

...Callahan may not be great --- but he didn't MAKE them old.

Dude, they were just as old last year, its such a bogus excuse. One year doesn't take an EXACT same team from the Super Bowl to the bottom of the league. Other teams figured out how to play this team, and the coach failed to change accordingly.

They're all a year older and since they weren't young last year, it's worse NOW. Ganon (Tuiasasopo (sp?) looked SO much better against the Chiefs) has looked like absolute crap all season and without Porter, the receiving corps has been exposed as being mediocre --- at best.

Callahan is hardly a great coach --- but no way his gameplan becomes absolutely useless one season after making the Super Bowl. It goes both ways.

Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, and Jerry Porter mediocre? Damn, you don't know shit. Sure, Brown and Rice have lost a step, but even at 40, they are better than 3/4 of the receivers out there. And Porter? He's certainly no slouch.

Brown and Rice WERE great. They are Hall of Fame caliber receivers.

They are NOT great now. They aren't even close, much as YOU may have a brutally hard time facing that age has not done THEM any favors.

Using your logic, nobody could say that Joe Namath was a bad QB when he played for the Rams at the end of his career.

Rice and Brown better than 3/4 of the receivers out there? I can't think of many teams where they'd both be starting. The Panthers, Cardinals, Cowboys, Chargers --- who else?

You can revel in their former greatness. Doesn't make them great today.

I would start Boldin over them any day.

Neither Brown or Rice would start for the Cowboys.

No way.

Gotta agree with him there. Brown might return punts if he was in Dallas but that would be it.

If you think the Raiders look bad now though I don't advise watching next season when Rice, Brown, Gannon, Rod Woodson, etc retire and Charles Woodson most likely leaves.

With all these guys gone they can spend their money on players who can actually play. The Raiders have a problem pushing their old guys out the door. But if these guys are gone next year, they'll be forced to go out and get new guys. And they usually seem to go out and get good players. They just don't know when to get rid of them after they have become too old.
