Greatest logic gaps in wrestling history

Recommended Posts

Guest Redhawk

Vince McMahon is supposedly a billionaire, right? So assume he has at least $1 billion and split it four ways. Okay, that gives Shane and Stephanie $250 million each, $500 million total. They say they spent "all" their money on WCW and ECW. So you're telling me that ECW, which JR and Lawler always clown about the bingo hall and Heyman being a goof, is worth that much money? And even if ECW was a crappy as they act like it was, that would mean WCW was worth like $490 million.

Then there's the APA office moving from Pennsylvania to New York all on it's own and remaining in the same condition.

Vince and Linda are trying to stop the invasion, however they let The Alliance in the building every night. You never saw any struggles with security, etc. And on top of that, they had scheduled matches involving the Alliance. What kind of invasion is it when you have appointments with the invadees?

Ok, now I want to ask you people something.

Why are you complaining about the APA Office being there? I thought it was a hoot. The only problem was the NWO got within 50 feet of it.

heres another question of logic:

when the Invasion angle 1st started the APA were the 1st line of defense, Bradshaw & Farooq made some great promos with Freddie Blasse but the APA get stuck in a mini feud with Palumbo & Jinjrak.

nWo vs APA would of been entertaining.....XPac taking the Lariat of Doom!!!  But they split up the best big man tag team in the WWF.

the greatest logic gaps in wrestling history: almost every angle from rosso's time in wcw, none of them made any sense

Everyone complained about X-Pac lapfrogging everyone but with the injury to Nash, the NWO is in a basic (upper) mid-card feud, which isn't that far off from the IC title when he was fighting for it from where I see it.

escept when xpac left he was in the crusierweight divison which is alot lower than upper midcard

I don't think they used all their money to buy WCW/ECW, just that they both sold all their WWF stocks.

I wonder how exactly a corporation can be funded with 4 shareholders?  Not to mention why there would be a board of directors when you have only *4* shareholders.

Austin vs HHH... HHH had Austin hit by a car, thus putting him out for almost a year.  From there Austin and HHH have a blood war which includes HHH being dropped from a crane in a car (That in itself is bad logic).  Come the Raw after WM... Austin and HHH JOIN FORCES.  WHY?  "Anyone who would be as sadistic enough to hit me with a car, I HAVE TO have on my side..."  YEAH...  I could understand if HHH had hit JR with a car and have Austin and HHH feud over that, but not Austin himself... IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE...

Rule #1 about watching the WWF product... DONT THINK.

Yet for some particular reason things get repeated so often that it penetrates this field of ignorance in my brain and makes me think when watching.  They use the shareholder thing so ofter, and most recently the BODirectors that you just have to wonder.... Dont most publicly traded companies have more than 4 shareholders?

The hogan/rock thing was so horrible.  You know that the wwf wished they never hit him with an ambulance...cause, you know, they NEVER FUCKING MENTION IT anymore.  DAMNATION! I am thinking again, look what you made me do!

Ahh... but you forget the magical psychological healing powers of the 1, 2, 3... I can't think of any good examples of course, but how about DDP suddenly forgetting all about the Undertaker's wife after she pins him? Guess she wasn't worth all the months of storyline stalking and obsession? Or what about Tajiri and Torrie or the Dudleyz and Stacy? The girls accidentally cost 'em the match once and it's psycho on the ladies? I guess that's different tho 'cuz those are belts, but still, in reality (at least I'd like to hope) people are more forgiving.  Now if they cost 'em the belts AND the rematch...

The whole Rock/Hogan thing makes my brain hurt.  "You hit me with a semi while I was in an ambulance.  We have a match, the greatest match ever."  Pfffffffft!  Yea right, but thats just my opinion.  "After the match, your 'buddies' the nWo attack you, and because I respect what you have done for this business I help you."  Were you ashamed of being out popped Rocky???

"Fast forward, we have tag matches together before, in a total clusterfuck, I want you to be named #1 contender.  Not me, you.  The man who tired to end my career and life."

Does that make any sense whatsoever???  I'd almost expect Russo to be behind it, but then we'd be subjected to seeing more tits, and well I'm really tired of seeing Hogan's saggy man tits.  They're not as bad as Flair's but ICK!!!  Wrestle in a shirt!!!

Well actually Hogan is still in pretty good shape for being near 50. I'd say that alot of 50 year olds would like to have his body.

I'll admit Hogan is in better shape then I'll be when I'm 50, but when I wanna see tits on WWF I wanna see Lita's or Trish's, not some 50 year old floppy saggy former pecs.  They're almost as bad as when Mae Young flashed at Royal Rumble 2000 *retch*

AHHHHHHHHHHH I ALMOST FORGOT THAT YOU BASTASRD!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The absolute LARGEST plothole in WWF storylines is ANYTHING involving an evil owner... Because logically...If Vince McMahon really hated all the faces working for him, why doesn't he just fire them? Like, DUH!

one of the worst is hogan "almost killing" the rock in the truck thing not 2 months ago, and now the rock tosses hogans brown eye like no ones business.  WTF is that about?

Vince has 9 billion.

Negative. He isn't a billionaire anymore. He is in the hundred millions now after the XFL fiasco. As reported by Forbes Mag that is.

HHH didn't hit Austing with the car, Rikishi did. HHH just convinced him to.

I agree, same with Flair but at least he wears a suit now. If Ric ever decides to get back in the ring, I hope somebody advises him to wear  a "Bro" or a fully body suit or something with support and coverage.

Ah, well, in 96 he was worth 9 billion...

I bet he regrets that whole XFL shit, the cheerleaders were foxes though.

While Rock and Hogan IS ludicrous (I respect you for scratching by back, raking my eyes, and whipping me w/ your belt, after which I kick your ass, WTF?) All the Mcmahon storylines ceased to make sense after a very short time. I think the last two sensible things they've done is when Steph turned on VKM after the marriage, and when Shane turned on VKM, Both were actually explained. I mean, there is NO WAY that, for example, Vince should let Steph back in the WWF after ECW, and NO WAY IN HELL Linda shouldn't have completely severed ties from him. She's supposed to be portrayed as some kind of strong matriarchal figure, and Vince treats her like shit, and all is forgiven? Again, WTF?

And I don't even want to think about Russo's runs in WCW. My head can't take that kind of pressure today.

You know, if they would stop re-hashing the old and drawn out storylines, most of this wouldn't happen. If they'd just end the "evil owner does _" nonsense, then that's a great deal of plot holes that would never have a chance of becoming apparent, actually, it reminds me of the Eric Bischoff thing in WCW, where he was stripped of all his power by JJ Dillon, and it played out that way for several months, and all of a sudden, without any kind of warning, or reasoning, Eric Bischoff was suddenly the "Boss of WCW" again.

Guest What?!

The Higher Power made no sense at all.

I mean, if the plan started before WM15, it made no sense if Vince's whole plan was to screw Austin out of the title, since Vince already had Rock as his handpicked Champion!!!

Another thing.  Isn't Kane supposed to need one of those voice box things to talk??  I remember him using one before but now he can talk fine... wtf?

WWF Magazine and some of the other shows gave some bullshit explaination about him having surgury on his vocal cords allowing him to speak on his own.

As far as the biggest plot hole...geez, I complain about them all the time, but when I finally get to talk about it I can't think of any.

The 2 Man Power Trip was pretty bad, but since they were working the whole "Austin's snapped" angle, that logic can almost be explained. Plus I liked the team so I'm not complaining. One that annoyed me more was the Jericho/Benoit team last year. The two had just spent a good fighting over the I-C Title, then they turn around and suddenly they're best friends. One that I hear more often is how can Linda still be the CEO when Austin lost that position at KOTR 99. Another annoying one was that Chyna/Jericho team. He kidnaps her, ties her up and shatters  her thumb w/ a hammer, then 2 months later they're best friends (or whatever they were), with no real explaination. Damn, if I think of a real good one I'll come back later.

Don't you remember, X-pac taught Kane to speak somehow back in 1999, before turning on him...

What about triple H being dropped upside down in a car, and returning a week later, no-selling death.

Yet Triple H powerbombs Test through a table and Test is gone for months(not a bad thing).

Still it's evidence of Logic Gaps or Triple H holding everyone back even the Grim Reaper.
