spiny norman 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 My internet plan has given me a 1 GB limit for downloading, so I've never really tried to download a movie, but a lot of people I know seem to do it quite regularly and there's a couple of things I really want to download. I use WINMX for music downloads, and it seems to be counted by my server as a larger download than it's marked as. So, what I am asking is what would be the amount of bytes needed to download say one hour. Is there anywhere to download from which minimises the amount of megabytes needed for downloading, or should I just stick with WINMX? Any help would be appreciated. Insane Bump Machine 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 a 90 min movie in good quality is usually 700MB, so that it fits on a CD-R. Longer movies are often 1.4GB (2CD-Rs). But those are not universal rules. If someone rips a 90 min DVD with AC3 sound it will usually be 1.4 GB as well. It also depends on wether you want SVCDs (to play them on your DVD player) or DivX/XVID. I download movies with eMule.
