America Rocks the Vote

Dean handled his gaffe over the Confederate flag rather horribly. I honestly thought that at first he came off sounding like a white supremacist, and so did my girlfriend who doesn't pay much attention to politics and who knew nothing about the gaffe, but was just listening to Dean respond to the question. I don't know whether this is a big enough deal to put his candidacy in peril, but he really didn't come across that well, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start to slip. But I have the sense that he has too much momentum, and this is too little too late, so he'll still win the nomination. But, ironically, in the general election he can probably forget about the southern white vote, because his comment did seem like such a product of northeastern arrogance that I imagine it will alienate those he was trying to court. And I don't expect black people to flock to the polls for him either.

Otherwise no one stood out. Mainly, I'm thinking that I don't ever want to see another "youth" debate again. I enjoyed the other debates a lot more and found them more substantive then this thing. More than half of the questions were just stupid, especially the pc or mac one. I am embarassed to be a member of this age cohort.
