Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 7, 2002 OK, well, the April 6th thread seemed to be pretty successful, so I guess this will be a new tradition. So--woke up at 7:30, only to remember that it's really 8:30. Damn, this will be hell when it's time to go to work tomorrow morning. Well, there's a Japanese Wrestling Club meeting at a video store this afternoon, where they're going to be showing matches like Kobashi vs. Misawa, Misawa vs. Kawada and "Best of Japan 2001 (Part 1)", so maybe I'll finally get to see some of those Mutoh matches that I've heard about. I posted a thread about this in the Foreign folder, if anyone in the NYC area is interested in going.
Guest WWF4Life Report post Posted April 7, 2002 Awww, man. I wish I could go, but I've got a lousy date which I've got to get ready for. Damn my social responsibilities. A date with a hot chick or Japanese wrestling...that's a tough choice
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 7, 2002 Japanese wrestling. Come on, like that's a real choice? Anywho, I woke up at 9 something, which is now really 10 something. I looked at what's playing, and after seeing High Crimes get a 37% on the Tomato-meter, I chose Panic Room instead. Shows in two hours. Read the Sunday Comics, played FF: Tactics... that's it so far. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted April 7, 2002 I have a feeling that today is going to make yesterday look productive and fulfilling by comparison.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 7, 2002 Well, I overslept so I didn't go to church. Got online, got offline, got online--yadda. I worked on some of my English project, played a little Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and then got back online. Oh yeah--now, I have enough to buy WMX8 when it comes out. Word. Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 7, 2002 it's already 4 o'clock & i've done nothing of note. i haven't even gotten out of the building. i woke up at 2, took a shower, worked on my 'gummo' paper & came online. i feel so useless. i think my roommate is my only connection with the outside world, cause whenever he goes for the weekend i turn into a recluse. all i do is get online, do homework & write. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 8, 2002 Hey godthedog, why do you have to go downtown to write? Are you like me where you can't concentrate at home, so you have to go to a cafe or a library to get anything done? Anyway, I went to church, then had brunch at an Indian restaurant (tandoori chicken and samosas). I walked the 12 blocks home, to drop something off for my mom, then walked 18 blocks back in the same direction to go to that Japanese wrestling thing at Kim's Video. There were 4 other people there when I arrived, which was a decent start, I guess. A few more people came in before it ended. Hopefully, over time, attendance will increase rather than decrease. They showed the ENTIRE Hayabusa: The Flying Assassin tape, which was pretty good, only the announcing (by John Watanabe and the LAW's Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski) was a little annoying (like calling moves in triplicate, JR-style), but to their credit, they explained the storylines and the psychology reasonably well. The 3 matches featured Hayabusa vs. Masato Tanaka, Mike Awesome, and Mr. Gannosuke. Also shown were the 1/22/99 Misawa/Kawada match (so I finally got to see the infamous Ganso Bomb spot, which had everyone in the room groaning), the Shamrock/Fujita PRIDE 10 match which, oddly, saw Shamrock's corner throw in the towel, even though Shamrock punched the hell out of Fujita, an Ultimo Dragon/Shinjiro Ohtani match, and a couple of others that I forgot. Not a bad way to spend a chilly Sunday afternoon. Plus, I got a free poster, which will be going up in my office, next to my Chasing Amy one. Then I walked home. So, if nothing else, I got a shitload of walking exercise today. Oh, and I bought the Watership Down DVD before I left the store. I've been waiting years to get my hands on this movie, so when the DVD came out, I checked every fucking store, and nobody carried it! This was the only place I was able to find it. Now, I'm gonna study for my Computer Architecture exam on Tuesday. How boring!

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 8, 2002 Worked on my English/mythology project most of the day, played a little more SA2B, and just got through talking to a girl that is a friend (the one I made out with). Then, came online and started listening to MP3s.

Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 8, 2002 Dames - you should come next week. Yesterday's meeting was from 2-6, so it's still worth it if you walk in a hour or so late. The guy running it would be happy to get more people. Nah, I didn't go on the ROH. I'm gonna be busy on the 27th, so I won't be able to catch it this time around either. The card sounds pretty good, though. Some guy named Gabe was on WOL last night talking about it.
