Guerrera/Misterio - AAA 4/21/95

Recommended Posts

Juventud Guerrera vs. Rey Misterio Jr. (AAA 4/21/95)

Anyone else seen this match?

It's pimped as a top 5 Lucha Libre match by DVDVR, but I can't see why. It was only 7-8 minutes long, and they don't do much. Perhaps I have a clipped match?

Am I underrating this? Is it really that good? Am I just not "getting" it?

Oh, this match is floating around Kazaa, if you want to see it.

Watch their 5/21/95 match, it's a lot better.

4/21 and 5/21 are the SAME matches.

I don't know of a clipped version of 4/21.

Their best singles match was 3/16/96 in Tijuana.

www.bobbarnett.com has it.

****3/4

I thought there was a different match on KaZaA with 5-21-95 on it that had Art Barr (how? I thought he died the year before) managing Mysterio and Psychosis managing Juventud. It's true because I looked at the date and watched the match.

Rey and Juvi had the following singles matches on AAA TV:

11/30/94 (aired 1/95)

4/21/95 (aired 5/28/95)

6/16/95 (aired 7/28/95)

2/12/96 (Cage)

8/96 (Cage vs. Car)

They also had a Raw Footage match in 1994 from AAA.

Also have a handheld from 12/10/95. And the 3/16/96 Handheld.

Art Barr NEVER seconded Rey. He was a heel from 5/93 to his death.

So I haven't a clue what match you are talking about. From memory, the 8/96 match did go around 8 minutes.

It was the match where Juventud hit Rey in the face with the title as Rey was flying off the top rope to the outside while Juventud held the belt up in the air. That's the match I'm talking about.

About Art Barr, if that wasn't him (it couldn't have been if this match took place in 1995 anyway), then was it someone dressing up like him (Rey's managing wrestler wore a white mask, had a mullet like Barr once did, and had a white and black outfit on)?
