I seriously hope this doesnt turn into one big self-appretiation club... Who cares if they have similar opinions? They're just message board mods, their only job is to suspend trolls and delete their posts. They don't do anything else. They can become a posting clique, or have big behind the scenes orgies, or whatever they want, and it doesn't affect the board at all. Some people seriously worry too much. Bps didn't close the thread because it pissed him or or anything. Jay (El Cubano) had made the thread to announce the 3rd Mod (Bps), but the thread turned into guys ::hitting each other with belts like this:: So I suggested the idea of making a thread just for Anglesault (Which is in General Chat). So his belt hitting gimmick wouldn't spread into the WWF folder. Bps closed the thread, while Cobainwasmurdered created the "One & Only Anglesault" thread, and so far it's been a success and somewhat hilarious at times. Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted April 8, 2002 As life goes, people complained that the WWF folder needed more mods and now that we have taken steps to add several more moderators, people are complaining that it is a bad idea. Last evening at about 5am EST I took about twenty minutes and wrote up an extensive outline of the way that the forum WILL be moderated. It will not be moderated by the personal feelings or opinions that the new moderators have of you or your thoughts, it will be moderated by the system that me and Justin have established. With a uniform set of standards you don't have to worry about learning 4 different sets of rules for the new mods, just excercise common sense and carry on as though nothing has changed. For those who say all the mods are the same, damn right they are the same and that is why they were chosen. They don't have gimmicks, they don't resort to supid antics to try and get themselves "over" on a message board, they do their own thing, post intelligently and don't let themselves get involved on flaming or anything else which is frowned upon in this board. They are responsible and the right people for the job, not to say others wouldn't have made good mods. They have all expressed intentions to want to help keep the board going strong and will do so. Not that I believe they will, but if you personally have any JUSTIFIED reason that you don't like the way someone is modding, PM me or Justin and we will look into it. All four have been informed that if they start to flex their power for the sake of doing so, nitpick or try and get themselves "over" with the position than they will be relieved of their powers permanently. People are complaining that bps closed a thread but I took it as a good sign on bps21's good natured feelings towards the forum. The guy closed a thread that proclaimed he was a new mod and basically congratulated him on winning the voting because it was eroding into flaiming and weird role playing exchanges. Did you get that...he closed a self glorifying thread knowing that it would fade off the page in no time because he didn't want to see more of the stupid behavior that people have been so ardently complaining about. The guy is trying to help and until he does something to prove otherwise cut him some slack. The worst an out of control mod can do is delete a post that they shouldn't have or move something to the wrong forum, and cases like that are what the National Guard and US Navy Reserves are for anyway. I have total trust in the fact that the mods won't form some kind of a heinous posting kliq who goes around writing everything in bold to intimidate others and starts to say things like "you better watch it, I don't like you and if you don't start agreeing with my posts than I am going to move all of your threads to the LITERATURE forum." As always, things are under control and will be corrected if they aren't. Let the mods give you a reason to dislike them before you do so just because they got a promotion, and you might be pleasantly suprised to find that they just want to help make this forum better just like the rest of us do.
