Stuff that is buried today

I didn't think the No Holds Barred crossover was that bad when it happened. Looking back, the match at Summerslam sucked, but I remember thinking, "Holy Shit! Hogna can't beat this guy!" I was anxious to see how they would beat the invincible Zeus going into the match. I remember being worried that Beefcake would be pinned during the main event depit ethe fact that Hogan almost always won.

I always kinda thought Jesse Ventura's commentary saved the feud, somewhat.  The Body seemed so convinced that HulkaMania was gonna die at the hands of Zeus, that even I sort of believed him.

To add to the "buried" list, I always was a fan of the Randy Savage vs. George Steele match from WrestleMania 2.  It was fun, entertaining and had some superb selling by Savage (Bouquet in the face, Stuffing in the mouth/eyes, Biting on the ankle, ect).  It seemed to be a foregone conclusion that Steele would beat Savage into submission, but Savage pulled it out w/ feet on the ropes, despite Steele kicking out of The Flying Elbow.

I remember liking the Warrior/Jake Trust me stuff which led to the heel turn by Jake.  Thart stuff was scary as a 7-8 yr old, well only the snake pit part really.

As you can see by my avatar, It's gotta be for me, Papa Shango.  I loved that gimmick, as it scared the holy crap outta me.  I thought he was a complete bad-ass voodoo daddy!

When Shango put a hex on the Warrior and he started vomiting uncontrollably....I was just completely into the kayfabe.

I think the most obvious Stuff that is buried today that I didn't think was that bad is Hulkamania in the WWF, it was bad in WCW.

The Papa Shango stuff had me scared somewhat too. I also didn't think the LT-Bigelow match was that bad either.

I love Papa Shango when I was younger because I hated the Warrior and when Shango made that black liquid run out of the Warrior's hair and over his face I loved it.  I think that was a pretty decent gimmick and given the right feuds with the right wrestlers it could have worked for longer than it did.

I remember an article I think in Raw mag a few years ago.  By this time, Charles Wright had become The Godfather, but was saying how much he liked the Papa Shango character, and how good it would be to resurrect him, at least once.  I thought they were gonna go ahead and do a Three Faces of Foley type thing.  Could do it now- nostaligia's in, and he ain't doing much else.

He could appear in the next Royal Rumble as Papa Shango, Kama, and the Godfather, much like Foley did in 98.  Ohh wait... Foley was actually an entertaining performer.

I'd mark for a return of papa shango, maybe the godfather, but Kama? who wants to see that?

No one wants to see Kama...I hope.  I just wanted to see the three faces of wright in the rumble.

Although it occurs to me know that one character is bald, one has a mohawk, and the other had braids.  That could pose as a problem.

I thought Bash 91 was good but at the time i was 4 years old. It entertained me and sting got revenge on koloff even if he didnt win.

watching it 2 weeks ago, i couldnt believe i ever liked bash91.

I have the PPV Version of Bash 91, all 3 exciting hours.  I don't mind it that much because I know it wasn't meant to be good.  Even if Flair did face Luger, the rest still blew.  I watch it w/o the FF button and then as my reward, the rest of the tape has Clash 15 on there so I can see Flair vs Eaton.  Yes, I know it's out of order but that's the way the guy put it on the tape.

Clash 15 has to be one of my favorite Clashes. Flair vs Eaton is amazing for the 15 minutes they had to do a 2 out of 3 fall match. Jason Hervey getting punked out by Paul E. is one of the funniest things ive ever seen  . i will always treasure my copy of that show.

When I saw the show live (Clash 15), you should have heard how much I went nuts when Eaton pinned Flair.  I was 7 and a half yrs old or so but I went nuts because I loved Eaton since he was from the MX and I hated Flair although I always loved to watch his matches.  But I swear I wasn't a smark lol.

My favorite Clash ever was 8 with this in second place.  The best ever Clash match was from 6 and I'll give you 3 guesses which match that was.  Yes, JYD vs Butch Reed(I think it was Reed.)  What heat.

How was the Steiner Flair match from 14?  I don't remember the show but I know those 2 went to a draw and Steiner was supposed to win the belt if he weren't so unselfish.

He could come in first as The Godfather (braids), then get eliminated, have a hair stylist backstage, switch to Kama (mohawk), and then after being eliminated again, shave it all off to become Shango for his final entrance.

But who cares about Wright enough to go through all that crap?!

I thought the way they had WWF Prime Time Wrestling with the table and the different announcers sat around Vince at the head of the table,I think they should bring something like that back.

Thanks.

Is that the same set that McMahon, Duggan, Hillbilly Jim, Heenan, and Perfect were sitting around when the Macho Man introduced his Perfect Partner?
