Guest Brian Report post Posted April 8, 2002 WWF RAW – 1/28/02 The ECW music blares over the stereo system. Heyman is on his way out to the ring. He’s bringing the Dudleys, Tazz, RVD, Dreamer, Raven, and The Impact Players with him. Heyman wants one last match to fight off Flair. He’s been tired of being treated like bullshit his entire career. Tired of playing third fiddle to the big two. Heyman has a dangerous alliance of guys waiting to beat Flair’s big guns. Heyman says at No Way Out, he’ll put up Tazz, the Dudleys, and RVD against any of Flair’s four. Tazz says whoever comes, beat us if you can, survive if we let you. <Commercial Break> Cruiserweight Title Tajiri vs. Daniels vs. Kidman Daniels immediately plays up the heel tactics, teaming up with whoever is in control and taking cheap shots at both men. Daniels throws Kidman out of the ring around 5:20 after hitting a Russian leg sweep on Tajiri. He picks him up and goes for the Angel’s Wings but Tajiri reverses it and hits two kicks for the victory at 5:39. Christian walks into Regal’s office and tells him that he wants to defeat Heyman’s little bunch. Regal says they can start tonight with the Dudleys. <Commercial Break> Flair meets in the back with Heyman. He tells him that this battle has nothing to do with him, and he wants to make sure McMahon’s not pulling any strings. Heyman tells Flair that McMahon can kiss his ass, and if Flair’s afraid, he can just give Heyman his fifty percent of the company. Flair says that if Heyman wins, he can have it, but if they lose, all ECW wrestlers will become free agents. European Championship Raven vs. Eddie Eddie reverses the evenflow DDT into a Northern Lights but Raven reverses that into a waistlock, but Eddie hits a mule kick to the crotch, followed by a brainbuster and a frog splash for the pin at 7:43. Booker T and Test are talking in the back. Test tells Booker that if ECW wants to pass the Test, they’re going to have to beat Test. Booker says he can dig that. <Commercial Break> Regal/Christian vs. the Dudleys Christian pins D-Von after Regal hits him in the back with the belt while Buh Buh was going for the swanton. Buh Buh falls allowing Christian to hit the Unprettier at 7:27. Flair delivers a promo in the back. He says that he’ll honor Mick Foley’s last order and he says that the Hardy Boys will get a title shot at No Way Out, as well as the Impact Players. Also, he’s decided on the four wrestlers that will take on Heyman’s ECW crew. Regal and Christian just went out there and defeated the Dudleys, proving their worth. Joining them will be Test, and the team will be captained by Booker T. <Commercial Break> Tag Team Championships Mysterio and Juventud vs. Palumbo and O’Haire Mysterio and Juventud are battling in it out in the ring with Palumbo and O’Haire around 7:10. Palumbo gets hit with a headscissors by Juventud to the outside of the ring. Juventud hits a plancha to the outside. Rey goes for a hurricanrana but Lita runs down to the ring followed by Jeff. Lita distracts the ref while Jeff runs in and hits a DDT on Rey. The ref slides over for as O’Haire rolls over for a nearfall. Jeff and Lita double team Rey on the outside while Palumbo rolls in. Double superkick finishes Juventud at 8:51. <Commercial Break> Steve Austin vs. Diamond Dallas Page Jericho runs down to the ring but gets almost immediately thrown out by Austin, but DDP gets up and whips Austin against the ropes. Austin holds on and kicks for a stunner but DDP pushes him off, hooks a diamond cutter in and pins him with Jericho holding down Austin’s legs at 6:22. They cut to the back. Hurricane cuts a promo on Tajiri. He says that he gave up the superhero crap to realize his goal was to capture the light-heavyweight title. Though it was too late to pull out a tournament victory, he’s going to capitalize on an opportunity at No Way Out, because next week at RAW, he, Christopher Daniels, and Billy Kidman will go at it to determine the number one contender to the cruiserweight title. That’s not a hurricane coming through, that’s the vertibreaker crashing down on you. <Commercial Break> Booker T and Test vs. Rob Van Dam and Tazz Booker T and Test double team Tazz while RVD slowly gets up on the outside at about 8:40. They try a double irish whip but Tazz holds on to Booker T’s arm and quickly hits a snap tazplex. Test runs over and goes for the big boot but Tazz ducks and locks in a tazmission, but Test guides him to the ropes and they both fall out of the ring. Meanwhile, RVD is on the apron. He sees Booker down, looks around at the crowd, leaps to the top and hits a frog splash for the pin at 9:32. <Commercial Break> WCW Championship Chris Jericho vs. Ken Shamrock Late in the match, Shamrock misses a belly to belly flipping Jericho over. Jericho goes for the breakdown but Shamrock reverses that by rolling and hooking the leg, right into the anklelock. Angle quickly rushes in and brawl with Shamrock, causing a DQ at 8:23. Stone Cold rushes to the ring. Stunner on Angle. Stunner on Shamrock. He goes for Jericho but Jericho reverses directly into the breakdown. He grabs his title and gloats over all three as the show goes off the air.
