More Acurrate Explanation of Lugers...

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes

Lex Luger ended up in TNA was done almost entirely as a favor to Sting. The entire locker room was very surprised when Luger was brought in. Sting asked TNA to do him this favor as he really wanted to help Luger get back into wrestling. Sting even arranged for Luger's flight to from L.A. to land in Atlanta so he and Luger could drive to Nashville for the show together.

The original plan for the 11/12 match was to have Abyss turn heel (which he ended up doing later in the show) and be Jarrett's partner. The entire goal of the match was to try and give AJ Styles a "superstar rub."

Not once does "Sting refused to wrestle" or "Sting held up TNA" pop up in that, and the Observer is the most accurate source I can think of.

Why didn't you write the part of the Observer where Meltzer then goes on to say that Sting agreed to do more dates if they brought in Luger?

Maybe a.....CONTRACT EXTENSION? (He only signed for 3-4 appearences I think)

And thats whats posted on 411wrestling.com as they credit The Observer. I'm just a mere monkey who didn't see that posted here and did so.

That's not holding up TNA, that's a standard business bargaining technique.

While I don't agree with Luger being involved in TNA in any way, shape, or form, at least Sting would have done the show regardless.

Well, they failed to do that on the show. Guess why?

They still put Styles over the unstoppable monster clean anyway. They just pushed it back a week.

And I must say I was marking out for him in that match too, so it must have worked.

I'm not talking about Styles/Abyss. That was great. I was talking about pushing that shit back so Styles could look like shit against Luger. The no selling always on the offense Lex Luger. The same Luger that looked shocked when he got pinned by the former NWA:TNA champion like it was an upset.

Styles was made to look like a 12 year old against Luger.

Against Abyss, he looked like an absolute superstar. I swear, they are booking him way better since he lost the belt than when he had it.
