IWC Rebirth of Extreme

This past weekend I attended the IWC Rebirth of Extreme card at the West Hills Plaza in Moon Township, Pa. This card was pretty good from top to bottom and it was worth every penny. Mayfield Mayhem had their tape tables set up so of course I had to drop some dough on tapes. I picked up Best of Starrcade (83-87) which has all complete matches, Misawa vs. Kobashi "As Good as it gets", and Best of Misawa "The Tiger Mask Years". Also I got a chance to meet and talk to Shane Douglas, Chris Sabin, Shark Boy, and AJ STYLES!!!!!!! I was totally marking out as me and a friend of mine had about a 20 minute conversation with AJ about tapes at the Mayfield Mayhem table. There was some good action thoughout the night as Chris Sabin defeated AJ Styles in a solid ***1/2 to **** match. This has to be one of the first times that I say Sabin and Styles actually fight with a lot of grappling. The wrestling between the two I though was VERY good, and it was a nice change from their normally high flying style. Even though they did run though some high spots, the match was generally kept in the ring. There was a good tag team 3 way elimination for the IWC Tag Team Titles as well. M-Dogg 20 and his new partner Glenn Spector(I think he is a local guy) defeated the Devil's Advocates and the Ring Crew Express. Also Shane Douglas fought in a tag team contest with Mike Preston(a guy Douglas trained....supposedly) vs. Jimmy Vegas and Pittsburgh radio personality and part time wrestler Bubba "The Bulldog". I thought this match had DUD written all over it, but actually ended up not so bad, considering. I had a great time overall, and if anyone that lives in the Pittsburgh area or will be there anytime soon should check and see if the IWC is running any shows, because it's extremely fan friendly and you get a good chance to pick up some tapes and meet wrestlers as well. I would have to say that I would recommend the IWC to anyone that wants to see some Indy shows.
