Guest Vern Gagne Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Let's say a Christian converts too Judaism because his wife is jewish. How exactly to you go from believing that Jesus is the son of God, who died for our sins. To being a member of a religion that believes the Messiah hasn't returned yet and Jesus was only a prophet. Even if your in love with the person, I find it hard to believe you can change your beliefs that drastically.
Guest Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Sooo, someone subordinated religious beliefs to love. Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe if it happened more often, the world would be a better place.
Guest DragonflyKid Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 I think it would be rather simple to go from blindly believing in something with no evidence supporting it to something else with no evidence supporting it. If two people truely love each other religion shouldn't matter, if both religions spawn the same basic values the Jesus messiah/prophet issue is irrelevant. To let religion get in the way just proves how religion leads to division instead of unity.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 you don't. if you change religions for the sake of love than it's not an issue for you.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 The only issue I would have with that is the fact that I would not want my kids to grow up w/o Christmas. It's one of the true joys I am looking forward to and I don't think I could part w/ that for anything.
Guest One Bad Apple Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Converting from one religion to another, Marriage I saw that episode of 7th Heaven last week, too.
