Backlash main event?

Just a question. Does anyone know the reason Tirple H agreed to go against Hogan when Hogan's massive face heat even turned the crowd agaisnt the Rock? He is jsut starting to get over again and this will kill nlHln heat dead.

And if they were not going to put Trips against Taker why the long promo on Raw? Did they make a decision or something after Raw went off the air last week?

Maybe HHH is going to turn heel and use Hogan's heat that way. But then I read he wanted to stay face, so I don't know. Apparently Vince wasn't happy with the crowd reaction to HHH-Taker so it was changed.

That's strange because that crowd was dead. Has the plug gotten pulled on a world title fued this fast ever before?

Possible answers:

Hogan should job to HHH, like he should job to Rock, Austin, and probably Angle, Benoit, Jericho, and RVD.

HHH is looking to leech off Hogan's heat, but seeing the way fans reacted to the Rock, I doubt he decided because of this.

HHH is looking for an easy heel turn since the top heel slot is basically open. They de-pushed Jericho, fail to capitalize on Angle, and there's a lot more possible feuds.

They're looking to draw a huge buyrate, and with Rock/Hogan gone, Austin/Hogan not going to happen, and Rock/Hogan vs. The Outsiders in reserve, this is the match.

HHH is looking to gain momentum as champ and needs to play off someone with lots of heat.
