Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 I'm really interesting in checking out KOTOR for PC, but... I've heard mixed reviews, both regarding the gameplay and supposed insane specs required to play the gamep properly Thoughts?
Guest Ahhee Report post Posted November 29, 2003 I'm having a blast playing it. Runs flawlessly on my sys. 2400XP, 512DDR, R9500Pro. There isn't a patch out yet, so find out what mobo is giving the game fits (I can't remember off the top) before getting it.

Guest Ahhee Report post Posted November 29, 2003 You're better than the min sys req's on everything but ram. I believe the biggest issue is this; from BioWare's tech support forums 1.01: Long pauses while playing with an Intel i845 or i850 chipset motherboard. (Back to Top) In some cases, you will experience a long pause while playing if you have a motherboard with an Intel i845 or i850 chipset. We have identified this issue and a solution will be available with the 1.01 patch. Until that is available, you can disable sound in the config utility to verify that you are having this issue. Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Update: Got me an extra 256 stick to boost up to 512DDR, and have actually bought the game itself Currently clearing space (4 gigs, goddamn), will update about actual game content in due time
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Installed it, played for about an hour, definitely looks to be something special. If you like the Baldur's Gate/NWN series and you like Star Wars, you'll like this. Only problem is my comp does the "freeze'n'skip" during some battle scenes, even when I drop the res all the way down... I think it's the processor. Advice would be appreciated. Guest Ahhee Report post Posted December 1, 2003 It could be the processor or your sound card. Try running DXDIAG and tinkering with the 'hardware sound acceleration level' slider. That's helped me on other games before. The only slowdown I get is during very large explosions, like stepping on a frag mine while 3 or 4 baddies are shooting at me. Other than that, framerate is outstanding. I am however having some CTD's on Tatooine, but I've read that may be a memory leak bug that many are experiencing so I just packed up and went to another planet in the meantime.
