Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 I guess this is the most relevant folder for this topic...? Who are your favourite stand up comedians? Mine would have to include Lenny Bruce, the wonderful Eddie Izzard and of course Woody Allen.
Guest J*ingus Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Actually, I'm one of the twelve people on earth who have seen the Lenny Bruce Performance Tape, but it was a few years ago, and memories fade. I do remember that it seemed like he was tired/sick/wasted and didn't really want to be there, so he spent half the night just bitching about his own problems, albeit in a fairly humorous way. Didn't he die shortly after it was filmed? Denis Leary is probably my favorite, with an honorable mention for George Carlin back before he discovered politics & was stoned off his ass. Never seen Izzard or Allen do standup, though some of Woody's movies are so close that there's probably not much difference.
Guest muzanisa Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Bil Hicks Jerry Seinfeld The Guy who did the Mason Family, sketch, Are you Lonesome tonight and Drink Driving. (Can't remember his name but he's dead now). Bill Bailey

Guest muzanisa Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 The Guy who did the Mason Family, sketch, Are you Lonesome tonight and Drink Driving. (Can't remember his name but he's dead now). Sam Kinison
Guest JohnSkins Posted April 9, 2002 Report Posted April 9, 2002 Bill Hicks He is (was) the man. I can only imagine what he'd have to say about Billy Boy's 2 terms in office. A shame he died so young.
Guest Choken One Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Richard Pryor Chris Rock Jeff Foxworthy Sam Kennison Eddie Izzard George Carlin D.L Hughley Billy Crystal Robin Williams Tim Allen Jim Carey
Guest chirs3 Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Mitch Hedberg George Carlin Paula Poundstone The Amazing Jonothan Dana Carvey There are some whose names I don't know...
Guest J*ingus Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Oh yeah, and LEAST favorite is easily Andrew Dice Clay, one of the more reprehensible wastes of skin on this planet.
Guest Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 I like the ever funny Chris Rock and I think Kevin James is pretty funny sometimes.
Guest Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Dane Cook is a funny as hell new guy. Probably my new fav.
Guest Some Guy Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 George Carlin Eddie Murphy Andrew "Dice" Clay Chris Rock Stephen Wright (the monotone guy with an afro) Dennis Leary
Guest Annoyed Grunt Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 As a couple other people have already said, Bill Hicks is the man.
Guest dreamer420 Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 George Carlin is the man. I also don't mind Martin Lawrence on stage either.
Guest hardyz1 Posted April 10, 2002 Report Posted April 10, 2002 Sarah Silverman...makes me laugh like no one else...wickedly funny. God bless you, good sir! It's good to know I'm not the only one who likes her. As for my favorite: George Carlin Chris Rock Eddie Murphy Least favorite: Harland Williams -- He was on Comedy Central recently promoting the awful piece of shit Sorority Boys, and he hosted Premium Blend. 4 seconds of hearing his voice just makes me want to murder him.
Guest swan Posted April 11, 2002 Report Posted April 11, 2002 George Carlin Steven Wright Actually D.L. Hugley isn't bad. Worse: Carrot Top
Guest dreamer420 Posted April 11, 2002 Report Posted April 11, 2002 Is Carrot Top a comedian? Doesn't someone have to think you are at least funny first?
Guest godthedog Posted April 11, 2002 Report Posted April 11, 2002 lenny bruce was good, bill hicks was the best. "sucker of satan's cock" makes a great addition to anyone's everyday vocabulary. so does "another slut at the corporate gangbang."
Guest Wonderboy Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 My favorite standup comedian ever is Dave Chappelle. Other favs are.. Bernie Mac Dana Carvey Sarah Silverman Zach Galfianaizakiakjhkakghekhsooewsskis Don "D.C." Curry Jerry Seinfeld Chris Rock
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Harland Williams -- He was on Comedy Central recently promoting the awful piece of shit Sorority Boys, and he hosted Premium Blend. 4 seconds of hearing his voice just makes me want to murder him. Did anyone see Harland Williams on Conan O'Brien a few weeks back? Well, a few days after that, he went on Open Mike up here in Canada and made the EXACT same jokes with the host. The worst part was that they weren't the least bit funny, which is strange, since I saw him on Leno a week before that and didn't mind him at all.
Guest swan Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Is Carrot Top a comedian? Doesn't someone have to think you are at least funny first? He sold out a 2000 seat theater for two nights in my town. Haven't you seen his stuff, he is all about props.

Guest Flyboy Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 My favorite standup comedian ever is Dave Chappelle. I'd have to agree with that comment. He's so fucking funny it's insane...
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 14, 2002 Report Posted April 14, 2002 Eddie Izzard is my favorite. I own Glorious and Dress To Kill, and recorded the live version of Dress To Kill off of HBO...funny motherfucker. George Carlin is at number 2. I laugh at every special he does. Lewis Black pulls up at number 3. C'mon...IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY HORSE, I WOULDN'T HAVE SPENT THAT YEAR IN COLLEGE. Best...line...ever... Others I enjoy: Chris Rock Henry Rollins (his stand-up act is fucking funny) Andrew "Dice" Clay Andy Kauffman Margaret Cho (too bad she only has ONE show) David Cross (star of the upcoming film Run, Ronnie, Run; co-host of "Mr. Show"; played Drew's stalker on "Drew Carey"; featured on "Just Shoot Me" as one of the character's brother's that was allegedly retarded, but just faked it so he didn't have to get a job) Bob Odenkirk (co-host of "Mr. Show"; featured in many movies and TV shows)
