I can't believe it took around 26 posts in this thread to mention Lewis Black.  He's a great stand-up man, but the one funniest thing I have ever seen is his "review" on GTA3 and State of Emergency.  That can't be touched....ever.

Bill Hicks ruled them all, and he is still so relevant. Just take those Tiffany sketches and replace her name with "Britney" and you have new material. great stuff.

 

Carlin and Harland Williams are great too, and on the opposite end of the spectrum from Hicks I'd list Jim Carreys stand up work...

 

and Joe Rogan. This guy rocks.  His comedy CD makes up for hosting Fear Factor.
