Guest Brian Report post Posted April 9, 2002 WWF SmackDown – 1/31/02 JR says that after dissention between Flair two top guns, Jericho and Austin, how will the other two members of the No Way Out, Rock and HHH, react. Rocks’ music blares over the speakers. Rock says that the second fall of the No Way Out match will determine the WWF champion. Rock is saying, no he’s promising that he’ll pin Austin in the exact same way he captured the title from him three months ago. But Rock’s not just going to win the second fall, he’s going to take the first fall too. And he’s going to pin Chris Jericho and recapture the WCW title he lost at No Mercy. HHH comes out and he says that the first fall is his. He’s been chasing Jericho for three months and he wants to win the first title. And he’ll go straight through the Rock to take the second fall. Because Triple H doesn’t back down to the champions. Rock interrupts, tells him that his candyass is out of line, and if he smells what the Rock is cooking, he’ll stay out of his way. <Commercial Break> Jeff welcomes Matt and Lita to the arena. Matt asks him why he interfered in the match on Monday. Jeff says that he didn’t want Mysterio and Juventud, he wants O’Haire and Palumbo. Eddie Guerrero vs. X-Pac X-Pac pins Eddie Guerrero when he hits a low blow and an X-Factor onto the belt at 6:07. Billy Gunn and Rikishi are interviewed by the Coach in the back. They say that the ass-men are here today to start their quest for the tag team titles. <Commercial Break> Backstage, Angle says that at No Way Out he wants to face Ken Shamrock. Now, Shamrock doesn’t have to be embarrassed that he’s a third rate challenger for Angle, but his exclusion from facing the WWF and WCW champ at No Way Out means Shamrock is going to have to step up to the plate and lose to our Olympic Hero. Shamrock cost him the WWF championship two weeks ago at the Royal Rumble. But Shamrock is going to get an Olympic style beating. It’s true, It’s true. Hardys vs. Hollys vs. Hardys vs. APA APA gets eliminated at about 3:20 following a Bob Holly Alabama Slam. Hollys fall out when Rikishi hits the Rikishi driver on Crash at about 4:40. Hardys fall to the Famouser after Jeff Hardy gets hits with a top rope famouser while going for the swanton bomb at 6:54. Billy Gunn and Rikishi celebrate in the ring. Backstage, Austin tries to enter only to be stopped by security. Stone Cold turns, then takes out both security guards and proceeds. <Commercial Break> Vince is shown adding more security guards to the outside of his office, and inside. Intercontinental Championship Christian vs. Tajiri Christian is out in the middle of the ring when the lights go out and a strobe light starts flashing towards the ring. Three men are laying in a beating to Christian in the ring. The strobe goes off right as they hit a triple jumping guiri to his head. The lights go back on leaving Christian in the ring. Tajiri’s music hits and he runs down and tries for a pin but Edge runs down with him and pulls him out of the ring. Tajiri and Edge get in a shoving match, aand Tajiri shoots for a superkick but Edge ducks and hits the spear. He rolls him in and Christian rolls over for the pin at 0:46. Edge slides in the ring and waits for Christian to get up so he can hit the spear. Christian begins to wobble up but throws Edge into the turnbuckle, and goes for the impaler. Edge punches out and locks in the downward spiral. Tajiri hits a supekick to the back of Edge’s head, then chops down Christian’s legs and hits three kicks to the head. Tajiri grabs the cruiserweight belt and gloats over both of them. All is silent backstage as McMahon, Triple H, and Steph all wait impatiently. Suddenly, a commotion arises outside. McMahon tells the security guards inside to wait as Triple H rises from his seat and slams the door open, only to see the guards fallen and Austin gone. HHH picks up a beer with his name on it. <Commercial Break> Shamrock is met at the door of his dressing room by Michael Cole. Cole notifies him of Angle’s challenge. Shamrock says that he knows, but after he beats Rock for the title tonight there’ll be no reason for Angle’s challenge. HHH vs. Kurt Angle Stone Cold runs out across the ramp followed by officers. He slides into the ring and him in Triple H start throwing right hands. They battle to the ropes and Austin tries to toss HHH, but HHH reverses and hits a clothesline sending Austin to the floor. The officers handcuff him and take him away. The ref called the DQ at 5:23. HHH gets to the announcer’s table and grabs the house mic. He says that Austin better not cost him the title at No Way Out. <Commercial Break> Vince is in the middle of the ring with security around the ring when we return from commercial break. He says that he’ll have to start beefing up security at all WWF shows to make sure Austin doesn’t show. Because Austin’s suspended indefinitely until Vince can come up with a proper way to deal with him. Flair’s music hits. Vince says he’s not supposed to be here tonight. Flair says since he’s fifty percent owner, he can come and go however he wants to. Vince warns him that he won't have that luxury very soon, but Flair interrupts and says that he’s not going to give McMahon the full privilege, because he doesn’t’ have a majority of the decision making, as in more than fifty percent. Whooooo! Flair exits as McMahon climbs out of the ring. <Commercial Break> Eddie Guerrero makes his way out for commentary. He says that it’s time for him to start evaluating all potential contenders for his belt, because it’s becoming harder to find good ones. #1 Contender for the European Championship Edge vs. Al Snow Edge defeats Al Snow <Commercial Break> WWF Championship Rock vs. Ken Shamrock Angle pulls some strings before the match starts and says that since his match with HHH went nowhere, he still is waiting for some action. He got Vince to alter this to a three-way, a re-match of Royal Rumble. Angle says that just as a new champion has to give a re-match, so should a champion who pulls out a lucky win. Except this time, the Olympic hero is taking home the gold. It’s true, it’s true. Rock is recovering around the ropes at about 8:50 while Angle and Shamrock both have leg grapevines locked in on each other, with neither man looking to give up. Triple runs out from the ramp with a sledgehammer and nails Rock in the head for the DQ at 9:04. The game gets in the ring and gives sledgehammer shots to both Angle and Shamrock. Rock begins to get up but Triple H kicks him and nails him with the pedigree. Triple H counts his own three count, then grabs the title from the ring announcer and throws it on his shoulder, walks up on the ramp where he is greeted by Vince and Stephanie, who raise his hand as the show goes off the air.
