Downhome Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 What sort of program can I use to get that filesize on down? This is freaking insane. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest Jimbo Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 there's about a million Avi compressing utilities you can find on download.com, searchign google, yahoo, etc. If you don't mind switching to .wmv file type, Windows Media Encoder does teh trick and there's plenty of encoding options, so you can control the quality of the new, smaller file.
Guest Waldo Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 RM Converter I suggest downloading a crack for it.
Downhome Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 RM Converter I suggest downloading a crack for it. If I convert it to RM, how much smaller will the file be?
eiker_ir Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 use Virtual Dub search for it on google
Downhome Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 use Virtual Dub search for it on google Could you help me out on what options and the such to pick when doing that?
Guest Waldo Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 RM Converter I suggest downloading a crack for it. If I convert it to RM, how much smaller will the file be? You can adjust the frame rate and audio quality, so the size depends on that.
Downhome Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 I just tried to open it in Virtual Dub and wouldn't do so, giving me the error "Could not find decompressor for format DVSD".
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 For your no codec for DVSD problem, click here. To compress video, the Divx format is probably the way to go. Get the Kazaa Lite Full Codec pack and only install the following: (you can install all of them but keeping things to a minimum will make your life easier.) (First uninstall any other codec pack you don't need or contains older versions of the following:) - DivX Pro [version 5.1.1] [Decoding] - DivX Pro [version 5.1.1] [Encoding] - Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 ACM Codec [version 1.2.0.63] ...and anything else you know you need. For Virtualdub help and settings, I'll get back to you.
eiker_ir Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 for the compression, use the DivX codec go to Video>Compression> and choose Divx then Configure lower the encoding bitrate a bit and try compressing like that, if it's still too big try lowering it more etc
