Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I was just curious if anyone here has ever seen this. I watched it today for the first time, and I thought it was pretty good. It was a Michinoku pro match if anyone is interested. Discuss......
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Is this the match where Mutoh is wrestling as Kokushi Muso? I thought it was an alright match, but nothing spectacular. Sasuke certainly did a lot of flying around in this match, but that's nothing new
Tawren Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 It's Michinoku Pro: Return of Mutoh. I've got it, and it is a fun match.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I thought the part where Mutoh kept drop kicking Kojima's leg was awesome. They actualy had me marking out for a second there. It was a cool match though.
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Okay, Mutoh wrestled as Kokushi Muso in a different match. But I have seen this one a few times and it's quite good. I enjoyed it anyway.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 In all honesty, I'm not the biggest Mutoh fan. But I am a Kojima mark. Sasuke and Shinzaki always add good stuff to the match as well. I actually just got a tape that has Yuji Nagata vs. Keiji Mutoh 8/12/01 match on it. I watched about 3 minutes of the match and they start off like it was MMA. I wasn't too impressed but the match just started, so I'll give it a chance. The match was listed as ****1/2 on highspots though.
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Is that the G1 Climax Final match between Mutoh and Nagata? I have seen it a few times and I thought it was excellent, even with fucking Mutoh no selling the exploder suplex. I am a fan of Muta/Mutoh, but certainly not as much as I used to be. Kojima always impresses me, however, even when he wrestles as Great Koji. I am a fan of Nagata, too, but my real interests lies with the junior heavyweights.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Yes, it was the G1 Climax final. I didn't watch the whole match yet so take my criticism lightly. I do enjoy the Jr's a whole lot. Hell, that was my intro into puro. But since then I just love AJPW (from the 90's) and guys like MIsawa, Kobashi, Kawada, Akiyama, etc.......
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 When I used to have Kazaa, before it fucked up my computer, I used to download all kinds of Puro matches. Took my comp. in for repair and lost all the matches I saved, including a 45 minute classic between Misawa and Kobashi for the Triple Crown Championship. It was the juniors who introduced me to Puro, but it was Misawa, Kobashi, Inoki, Kawada, Akiyama that made me a diehard fan for life.

That 45 minute Kobashi/misawa match happen to be the one from 1/20/97? If so, that would be my pick for the greatest match of all time. It rocks......
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Yes, indeed it was the match from 1/20/97, and when I saw it for the first time it blew me away. I sat there wondering why the hell I waited so long to discover Puroresu... (thank you for the wonderful Internet). Wrestling fans honestly do not know what they're missing when they don't bother giving Puro the time of day. It could be the brutality of Misawa-Kawada or the simplicity and beauty of Inoki-Gotch or the high-flying styles of Tiger Mask and Jushin Lyger, I love it all right now. What is a good place online to get some Puro tapes if one doesn't have a credit card to use? By the way, I just wanted to say something about Hakushi... his match at WWF IYH 1995 against Bret Hart is definitely highly underrated, at least imho.

I don't really know any good places to get tapes if you don't have a credit card.( At least that's what I always use) But check out the link in my sig. If you have anything worth trading I could hook you up with some kickass puro stuff.
Guest Black Tiger Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 What is a good place online to get some Puro tapes if one doesn't have a credit card to use? E-mail Jeff Lynch, the man has give or take EVERYTHING that you could possibly imagine, at great prices and awesome VQ. Plus his service is top notch
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Good call Tiger, as I forgot about Jeff. He has great stuff, but I thought it was a bit pricey.
Tawren Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Lynch is too pricey for my tastes. $15 + a blank for a T-120 isn't my thing. Golden Boy Tapes and JapanTapes both take money orders and are far less expensive.

I've never had a problem with any of them. ON the other hand I've never ordered from japanTapes, but I would take Tawren's word on it.
