Guest Report post Posted April 9, 2002 Alright, I was writing my match for SJL Metal no too long ago, and I was sort of at a writing road block. So then I got kinda board with writting the match, so I played some of my MP3s and I got back to wrtting and wrote a lot better! Well, like they say "music stimulates the mind." Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted April 10, 2002 I listen to Music, mainly Metal and Rock music. Though sometimes I'll shut my self out, and just type. I remember I typed, 3000 words in an hour once.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted April 10, 2002 Yeah, music helps. I use music when I write anything creative, not just matches. Quite a variety works for me--perennial writing favorites include Tool, Miles Davis, Massive Attack, and... ...Tori Amos. There's nothing like powerbombing someone through a flaming table to "Pretty Good Year."
Guest ErekT2k Report post Posted April 10, 2002 I listen to Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson when I write. It's not because their music's good, it's because their music makes me get a mental image of them. That's what really stimulates me. Get it right, Cutthroat! But for music, I listen to alternative, trance, and the music system of a down plays.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted April 10, 2002 and the music system of a down plays. I think Spin called it "time signature shifting Armenian folk-rockin' speed-metal mayhem." I would have said "ridiculous pop-metal" myself, but oh well. Guess it doesn't look good on copy. Spin is a bunch of dumbasses. That is all.

Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted April 10, 2002 and the music system of a down plays. True Nu-Metal, not some wannabe metal bands like Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit
Guest Tod deKindes Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Fell off your ski-doo? Kee-p trying...get it, Dookie?...ah hell... When I write, I like to listen to my wrestler's and my opponent's theme music so I can visualise their entrances in my head and build up from there. Ooh, how bout this? "Where to?" "Going to a bar called Smoothy's" "Smoothy's Slappy Hour, 10.39$" ...God I suck at this.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted April 11, 2002 LOL! HA HA HA! OH MY GOD THAT'S FUNNY! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Ahem. You see Cutthroat the reason I'm laughing is the EXACT same thing happened when I was writing, and we have the SAME Hardcore 3 Way to write. I actually wasn't having a writer's block, but instead when I was writing our entrances I actually downloaded and listened to our theme songs. When I noticed how fast I was typing and how easily the ideas were coming into my mind, I ended up typing to my them song "TNT," your's "My Way," and Jack's "Redeemer." Ah yes, music does indeed sooth the soul. Edit: Hey Tod, just read your post and it looks like we do the same thing. Great minds think alike.
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted April 11, 2002 Yeah, I switched my theme for specifically this purpose. I didn't want people to dl "The Gauntlet" by Dropkick Murphys and write with that in mind. "Tell All The People" by the Doors really fits the character better.
