Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 10, 2002 --> I'm enjoying the Flair/Austin interactions... even with the "What!"'s. --> "Two number one contendor's matches! What does this mean?!" Are we really to believe wrestling commentators are idiots? Who couldn't figure this one out? --> Say what you want about Spike's "win", but I thought it was pretty funny, and serves its purpose well enough. --> Bradshaw getting a singles push? No argument there. He was my favorite of the two. --> Damn, Molly's new look is a helluva lot better than "Mighty Molly!" --> Mark out moment of the night: RVD kicking out of both the Chokeslam and the beltshot. Good stuff. Damn good match, too. --> Flair can't sell a stunner very well. --> "This match is to determine the number one contendor at Backlash!" Nice one, Lillian. --> Hardyz vs. Lesnar? It could work... --> FUCK! YOU DON'T NOSELL THE PERFECT PLEX! Overall: There were a few glaring problems here and there, but the show was an improvement. The matches that weren't really matches furthered their storylines well (except Perfect/Show), and the ones that were matches were pretty damn good (RVD/Taker). Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted April 10, 2002 Agreed...the show is keeping my interest pretty well...new players(Lesner)...new feuds...its a damn tight rope they're walking with this all...off to about as good a start as you could hope for... And 'Taker was busting it RVD...to me he looked pretty good in that match(by undertaker standards)
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 10, 2002 --> FUCK! YOU DON'T NOSELL THE PERFECT PLEX! Agreed! I hate it when people no-sell finishers or interference, unless its under extreme circumstances. Rocky is notorious for this, if its for the WWF title on a PPV you could put a gun to his head and he'd still kick out at 2. This was why I was kinda pissed at the finishing of Undertaker/RVD, he shouldn't have kicked out after Eddie's interference, it makes Eddie look worse, like he can't pull off a proper belt shot (what an awkward phrase). Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 10, 2002 Belt shots I can stand. Finishers I can't.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted April 10, 2002 I was rather upset at Show kicking out at 1 (!) to the Perfectplex, but ,upon examination, the move probably wouldnt have hurt anyone. Show is too big to be lifted off the ground singlehandedly enough to exert a knockout. He went a half inch off the mat and laid down. It will, in the long run, totally kill the perfectplex, but it does do fine if you look at how believable the move really is. Might as well have Douglas do a run in and end someone's career with a belly to belly. It was low impact and it was obvious Wight was fine. The kick-out was needed.
